"I was hoping to purchase a pair of sandles that I had found online at Novo however when I entered the store on Friday 13 January I was shocked by the rudeness from a blonde sales assistant working there at just before midday. I am a Torres Strait Islander woman and was visiting from Brisbane. I was shocked to be checking the shoes on the rack when this woman yelled from behind at me asking if I was fine. The tone was so aggressive and rude that originally I thought she must of been speaking to someone else. I was shocked to turn around and see her staring at me (she had yelled at the back of my head). I didn't see her speak to any white customers like that. I clarified if she was speaking to me and my use of English must of shocked her to the point she said yes. Another customer near me also turned around as it was bizzare to be speaking that loudly to one customer. I was so disappointed I asked my family to leave the store and we would return later to maybe buy what I wanted when that particular assistant wasn't there. About an hour later we returned and I walked into the store to look at the sandles again. This same assistant appeared out of nowhere and was standing next to me asking if I knew what I wanted. I proceeded to explain to her what I was wanting and within moments of me speaking she looked disinterested, she looked at her watched sighed and then walked away. The level of rudeness or blatant racial profiling was something that I won't forget. I left the store and went to another shoe store. So a sale was lost due to this assistant. If the assistant is that unhappy working there then I would suggest management reconsider her position as it is very obvious to the general public. Also, I felt as though I was being racial profiled and it was a very unpleasant experience. That is why I am essentially writing this review. I hope this assistant understakes a cultural awareness course and also brushes up on some customer service skills as this does not deserve any stars for the rating."

"Chose 4 pair of shoes from display and had to ask sales assistant for assistance. She totally ignored me and didn’t acknowledge that I was in the store, let alone greet me or offer to help. Lack of personality, friendliness, or how to give service and should not be in retail. 06/10/22"
