"My wife Maggie and I dropped by hoping to get some lunch and the fellow behind the bar informed us that they didn’t do food but invited us to have a drink. So we did and then he asked us what we were looking at having for lunch. Not being from around these parts, we had no idea what was or wasn’t any good. He asked if we like pies and said yes, but that it was hardly a lunch type option. He begged to differ, gave us a limited selection and told us to grab a seat and that lunch would arrive in 20 odd minutes. And sure enough, 20 minutes to the second later, two magnificent pies arrived. They were amazing as was the service. The beer was icy cold and not served from one of those fancy frozen taps and Maggie had the best Lemon, Lime and Bitters in 40 years. He wouldn’t share his secret, maybe you’ll have a bit more luck. Thank you to the man in the hat, Anthony. You made an old couple’s day better. Cheers Lenny and Maggie MacMillan"

"What a cracking sleeper of a pub! From outside, you would not know the fun there is to be had inside. And Snatch is a big part of that, Anthony, if you will. While I don’t get to The Portadown as often as I’d like, every time I’m there for poker, my pint is already half poured. You can’t teach barcraft. Those who know, know and Snatch has a doctorate in it. It’s not just me who appreciates it either, you can see it in his interactions each and every time with every other punter. He can make everyone feel like the most important person in the room. And that certainly doesn’t go unnoticed. Also, it would be remiss of me not to mention another member of the team who has been so sorely missed this year and his name is Brendan who is back running poker there for a different outfit (APL). He is to poker what Snatch is to the pub. So cheers gentlemen and again, thanks for a great night."

He looked after the boys and I incredibly well, remembered our order the second time we visited and even helped us save a few dollars over Happy Hour.
