TAAHC is a unique partnership between the five hospital and health services in northern Queensland, including Cairns and Hinterland, Mackay, North West, Torres & Cape, and Townsville. We also collaborate with the Northern Queensland Primary Health Network, the Queensland Aboriginal and Islander Health Council, and James Cook University, which includes the prestigious Australian Institute of Tropical Health and Medicine.

Our primary goal is to enhance collective capability in health service delivery, health and medical research, and workforce development. Through translational research, we aim to embed research into health service delivery, ultimately improving the quality and efficiency of care provided to our communities. By doing so, we strive to attract and retain talented professionals in the region and encourage greater investment in the north.

Our partners deliver health services and tertiary education to over 700,000 people in northern Queensland, spanning from Mackay to the Torres Strait Islands.
