Quest Townsville on Eyre

"It was a great location. I was fortunate to be on the 2nd floor so hardly any street noise. Front desk staff excellent, especially Emma who went out of her way to help me look things up on internet etc and a lovely disposition. What let this place down was the room cleaning. I stayed for 3 nights, scatched my arm and there was blood on the pillow. That was not changed, no new toiletries on the 2nd day, basin not cleaned. Matress are past their used by date sheets not tucked in. If the cleaning improves, it would get 5 stars, but thank you Emma for all your help"

"Definitely not going there again!! Looked like a toddler had ran through the apartment and made a mess everywhere. Large brown and red stains on all carpets, from as soon as you walk in the door to all the the way through the apartment. Stains on the couch and a large crack on the wall over bed head in room. Even the tiles in the kitchen and shower had holes and cracks?? The dishwasher had a dent and looked like it hadnt been cleaned too! Apparently its supposed to look like that?? Large dent in wall too. Dont get me started on the kitchen. Doors screwed in so they cant be opened, fridge was hard to close and opens when it wants too and kettle lid didnt even work?? Not my idea of a great room considering the amount of money I paid for only 1 night!! Dissapointing and Not happy is an understatement. Only one upside was the reception ladies were nice and friendly."

"Room was clean but balcony was disgusting bird droppings all over chairs and railings. Really disgusting. I am very disappointed with this. I stay in a lot of quest but don’t think I will use this one again."

"Wreak-less room staff left the door of my room wide open all day long, just so that every random person can touch my personal belongings, help themselves into my credit cards bank notes, hard drive and laptops, etc.... I stayed there 3 weeks, on the very first day the room service entered my room without knocking when I was naked going to shower. They did not seem to even care. I never felt comfortable. When arrived the room is simply gross, disgusting and more sticky than most backpackers. Curtains are so ripped you can't close them properly, hard to sleep because of the light because your neighbours on the other side of the building stare at you all day. When I asked to get a vacuum cleaner to clean the disgusting room, I was told I am not allowed to touch it, instead they pretended a bit of carpet in front of the door for 30s leaving me in a disgusting room for another 3 weeks. Nevertheless, despite my horrible experience, the staff at the reception do an exceptional job. They will keep your belongings and if you ask for milk, they will go the extra mile to bring it timely to your door. I even had a free Mango. So in a nutshell, horrible room service, amazing reception staff. When you average out, it is worth 1 star. You can pick a hotel a quarter of that price in Townsville and feel much more comfortable than when surrounded by the Quest room service. I should have asked for a refund."
