"I wasn’t overly impressed with the stay I had. I booked and paid months in advance and was rather disappointed. The room wasn’t clean and up to standard that was signed off by Jack. The drains in both shower and bathroom sink took ages to drain, tea bag stains down the walls, mould in the grouting on the sliding doors ect. The staff were friendly. When I raised my concerns to the front desk she was apologetic."
"First time visiting Cairns. I chose this accommodation for the position near the Esplanade and the pricing. The hotel is quite close to some very nice restaurants. The tour buses call to pick up tourists on a regular basis. A great spot if you enjoy walking. The staff were extremely nice. I arrived very early in the morning and was given the opportunity to leave my bags with them until my room was ready. I was also advised that I could either spend my day sightseeing or could laze by the pool. The pool won out as I was tired after the flight. One of the staff came out to tell me my room was ready around 1 pm. The room was spotless and quite spacious complete with a balcony. Great spot for people watching and a coffee. I would definitely stay there again. Thank you staff at the Cairns Queenslander. It was a very enjoyable stay."
"Room was very large and clean, Plenty of space to sleep, eat and rest. Small kitchen area too that was great with a small dining table. 2 pools, both again very clean and tidy. Staff were so great. On our last day we were able to leave our belongings there while we went on a snorkel tour, on return we had access to shower facilities. Staff help with as much as they possibly can. It is around a 25 minute walk from main Cairns, but it is a great walk along the esplanade or there are bus services."
"I recently had a road trip from Tasmania to Cairns with my daughter who was relocating. We were time pressured due to my work and did it in six days. Our last night was, I thought, well planned. I had booked and paid for eight weeks prior for a more expensive room. Not to be. I received an email cancelling our room two nights before while on our trip. No explanation. We were offered a “lesser” room by the booking company. As accommodation was hard to find we had to take it. There was no apology from hotel. Service was poor by reception but hotel’s staff in general were good. Very disappointed but did not allow it to impact on journey. I would not recommend this accommodation to anyone."
