"Hire cars are prohibited on this road. Fines apply so tourists can't drive to West Point unfortunately. You'll see it written in your rental agreement and see pic of sign next to golf club access point."

"West Point and its beach are isolated places on Magnetic Island, with no facilities at all, including no drinking water. The walk from Picnic Bay and back was absolutely beautiful. It took me 2.5 hours each way, leisurely walking on the road. I totally recommend it! You must bring water though!"
