Reviews of Skyrail Rainforest Cableway
"Absolutely spectacular. Butterflies, birds and an amazing view of the rainforest. The app is great to guide you and the stops along the way are really interesting. Diamond view is great, but the floor is a bit scratched."
"At 135 million years old, seeing the beautiful Daintree Rainforest from 133ft in the sky was absolutely incredible...& scary as hell at the same time. Keeping calm for my husband's fear of heights was my job for the day- even though I was crapping my pants on the inside. Highly recommended for those not at all bothered being suspended 40.5m in the air. It is an absolutely stunning icon though."
"The gondola ride is good with great views and good stop offs along the way but don’t waste your money on the glass floor diamond upgrade - the 3 gondola I sat in had scratched floor glass and you can get the same down view from the side windows and it’s better as not hazy (even though the staff clean the floor) the village has some good shops - I loved the gallery at the end of the strip and from there a walk takes you though the forest and along the river back to the railway - which I found the best part - the train on the way back is a lottery - I was lucky and got a window seat but I could see some dissatisfaction in the people with centre seats and with bad weather your obviously not going to get much of a view as well but all in all a well worth day trip"
"Absolutely incredible experience. Went as a family and all really enjoyed it The stops on the way up are well worth going on a walk and checking out. The ride up was very smooth and the view of the waterfall was spectacular. They had options for normal gondolas and ones with glass floors. Our group got split as we had too many for one gondola so myself and my partner went with strangers. This did however end up being a fantastic experience and we talked with them the whole way. The others in our group chose to listen to the audio commentary which they said was very interesting. The staff were all lovely, but I would definitely say to book in advance as it does get very busy."
"Fantastic way to see the worlds oldest surviving tropical rain forest. You travel over the top of the forest itself giving you plenty of time to look down and enjoy the views. You'll see waterfalls and rivers and all manor of other things if you keep your eyes peeled. The monorail travels nice and slowly and feels very safe. It stops a couple of times giving you the opportunity to get off and site see those areas. Well worth getting off as there are spectacular waterfalls to be seen and so much flora and fauna that is well worth looking at. There are tails for you to follow which are clearly signposted so you don't get lost. The staff are excellent and the most helpful people I've come cross without being condescending. There are all sorts of eating places when you get to the village so try them out. The little shops are well worth looking around and the village itself is charming. All in all a fabulous way to spend the day in the sun and learning something new."
