The inception of Butterfly Shop Boutique stems from the passion and inspiration of its founders, B and Yayoi. Living in Japan during the early 2000s, they traveled and researched extensively to develop the concept for the boutique. While early versions of the store were proven successful in Japan, it wasn't until their return to Australia in 2010 that B and Yayoi decided to establish the Butterfly Shop, now with their own young family.

As residents of North Queensland, B and Yayoi appreciate the lush rainforests, beautiful beaches, and tropical islands that surround them. Their hope is to provide customers with a truly honest experience, leaving them content and eager to return in the future. To achieve this, they have created an environment that is both colorful and fun for families, yet sophisticated enough for couples seeking a romantic ambiance. Constantly striving to improve the in-store environment, Butterfly Shop Boutique aims to deliver an exceptional shopping experience.

In addition to our fashion offerings, Butterfly Shop Cafe Bar is a unique feature within our boutique. With cool indoor and street front dining options, it is the perfect place for couples, families, or friends to enjoy a range of hot and cold locally grown coffee, tea, milkshakes, sundaes, smoothies, and cold drinks. As a licensed cafe, we also serve a variety of Australian and international beers, ciders, red and white wines, champagne, and cocktails. For a light lunch or dessert, we offer French tarts, pastries, and the largest range of ice cream in Kuranda, boasting 39 fabulous flavors.
