"Wonderful restaurant. Such a change from a few months ago. New people running the kitchen are truly amazing. Food was delicious. Within fifteen minutes our food was on the table and all meals came at the same time. Very large portions. All five of us were so full from the main meal we could not fit in dessert. Service was so friendly and helpful with my elderly mother. We will definitely be back on a regular basis. Thank you for such a lovely dining experience. Cheryl"
"Came Nubeena for dinner while on a Tassie road trip to Port Arthur / Tasman National Park. Patroned this restaurant as guests, pan fried scallop with veg (good veg selections) was so yummy, prawn/fish linguini was delicious too. Great chef !"
"Great food friendly service what more could you want? Roast pork and veggies so good. Battered scallops and salad yes!"
"Single Che-Guevara-chef restaurant outperformed RSLs S43°6.494' E147°44.763' We do not like food from RSL’s, because in our experience it is usually indistinguishable from pub grub. No insult to pubs. On the advice of our hosts, we visited the Tasman ex-services club in Nubeena. This RSL, which is not officially an RSL, has the usual interior with pictures of soldiers and records of battles everywhere on the wall. It is an old man’s club, which is probably a good thing. Besides the bar, it has a restaurant, staffed by a single chef in a Che Guevara outfit. He takes your order, cooks your meal and takes the dishes away, sometimes assisted by someone from the bar when the restaurant is full of guests, like on the day we passed by. In February of 2020, we ordered garlic bread ($6), scotch fillet ($30), fish of the day $25 (boarfish) with pumpkin, sweet potato, carrot, zucchini and potato. The portions are large. After so many fish and chips meals, we loved the vegetables. The scotch fillet and boar fish had nice flavours and textures. Good preparation from the Che Guevara chef. We finished our dinner with chocolate pudding and ice cream ($8) This RSL is not a place to drive by. Do not expect gourmet food, but this single chef prepares good food for a full restaurant. That is a culinary achievement. Recommended."
