"I wouldn't rate them any stars. Been here 12 hours, took them 12 hours to do a ct scan and still no results. Wonder why so many don't bother and just take their own life cause ya dont get the help you need anyways!!!!!!!"
"I went into the Hobart Emergency Department & I thought they had stopped non emergency patients.. But obviously not.. I went in due to my 6ft 120kg Severly Autistic son viciously hits me around the face, head & back about a 100 times. There 4 times stronger than us & im 56 now. But the girl sitting next to me on the phone the whole time giggling & laughing & then basically skipped when her name was called was obviously more serious than possible head trauma.. Nothing will change untill they keep it Emergency only not what a G.P can fix the next day.. The Hospital is understaffed as it is & do a wonderful job. But untill they keep it to Emergency only things won’t improve. I would of been more less pain if I stayed home, but was worried about my blows to my head was all. But untill I sat there for anything 5-6 hours that wasn’t going to happen. I’d rather go home in peace & suffer unfortunately. It’s sad to do,but it’s not going to change unless they stop the period pain, the sore back, the NON emergency patients are told to go see there G.Ps.. The Hospital can’t cope with Emergency’s without G.P fixed patients clogging up the system. I left & went home still in pain & still not knowing if I had head trauma. And don’t intend on going back again either. But obviously my case wasn’t up there being important so I left due to the pain being unbearable. It would of been nice to be offered sime pain relief as I’m sure they must of realised being brutally attacked about the face, head & back came with pain. But Miss Happy Chatterbox was worse.. I couldn’t even pick my phone up let alone laugh.. Oh well my first experience of a Under staffed, poorly run Hospital"
"It’s Wednesday early evening when we stepped inside the emergency department, after 2 hours of painful wait I had to ask the staff for an update. Staff Response: It’s busy, and no staff was at “See me first” got at least 20 mins. What is the with the health system in Tasmania? I am not a health expert but I do my best to give back to the community by volunteering every other weekend. My wife was in bad stomach pain, she had tears in her eyes and I was standing outside waiting and respecting their 1 person policy. At the end, all we did was - wait even longer… This is just not acceptable!"
"Yeh, overworked, understaffed... And yet above and beyond these guys go to help you. Of course you blame them, waiting for hours to see a physician, but it's the girl who's come because of a headache, or the man who felt dizzy this morning and concluded an ambulance was necessary. Triage tries to prioritise but all are treated equal here and everyone is taken seriously. The staff will take care of you, if necessary immediately... And they'll do a great job!"
