Cygnet Family Practice is the result of a unique collaboration between Carl and Linda Childs van Wijk and Kerrie Duggan, Nurse Practitioner. Recognizing the unique form of healthcare provided by Cygnet Family Practice, the Childs van Wijks generously supported the practice through a philanthropic arrangement. Kerrie Duggan, who had always dreamed of working in a practice that provided a nursing model for preventative healthcare and health promotion, joined forces with the Childs van Wijks to share ownership and provide leadership in growing the practice. Today, Cygnet Family Practice offers a choice of nursing and medical services to Cygnet, the surrounding area, and the wider Huon Valley region.

We believe in providing holistic care that looks beyond immediate problems. By considering tomorrow's problems, we can help prevent future aging or illness. Our proactive approach involves planning ahead and applying preventative strategies to ensure the long-term health of our patients.

As we operate within the beautiful land of Cygnet, we acknowledge and pay our respects to the Traditional Owners, the Melukerdee People of the South East Nation. We honor their presence both past and present.

For urgent, non-emergency care, we offer additional appointments from 12 noon until 9.30 pm on Thursdays and Fridays, and from 10 am - 9.30 pm on Saturdays. Our experienced nurse practitioners and paramedic practitioners are available to address minor illnesses, sports injuries, lacerations needing sutures, repeat scripts, and more.
