Diggies Kiama
About the Business
Welcome to Diggies Kiama, a vibrant cafe and food establishment located at Blowhole Point Road in Kiama, Australia. Our institution is not just a place to grab a bite to eat, but a point of interest that embodies the coastal vibes and community spirit of the Illawarra region.
Diggies first emerged in 2003 at Wollongong's North Beach, thanks to the dedicated restoration efforts of the Crinis family. The iconic 1930s Art Deco Kiosk was transformed into a haven for fresh food, great coffee, and a favorite gathering spot for local families, the active North Beach community, and brunch enthusiasts.
Stan Crinis, the original co-founder, takes immense pride in serving top-quality, locally sourced produce at Diggies. With a passion for health, fitness, and the beauty of our beach, we are committed to supporting and nourishing the Illawarra Community.
Excitingly, Diggies has recently opened a second venue near the famous Kiama Blowhole, offering stunning coastal views. What began as a small coffee shop with a vision over 15 years ago has blossomed into a beloved institution in Wollongong. Our team now consists of over 90 like-minded individuals who share a passion for fresh produce, creating memorable experiences, and providing excellent service.
If you share our love for the Illawarra and have a passion for exceptional food and hospitality, we would love to hear from you. Reach out to us at careers@diggies.com.au and become a part of our dedicated team.
"Diggies has always reflected the best of the Illawarra - fresh food and beach vibes delivered with a smile." This sentiment holds true for Stan Crinis, who spent his youth immersed in the water and sand at North Beach. In 2004, he established Diggies with his family, who have been renowned for selling fresh fruit and vegetables in Wollongong for over 40 years. Stan's background in creative branding and design, combined with his family's expertise in fresh produce, gave birth to the concept of Diggies.
Stan and his brother Aaron aimed to create a hub for the active, creative, and inspiring beach community of North Beach. From the very beginning, Diggies was envisioned as a place that captured the essence of beach living - relaxed, breezy, sun-filled, and friendly.
In 2012, Stan co-founded Dagwood Bar Kitchen, infusing it with a playful and irreverent brand identity that has since become a fixture in the Gong food scene. Most recently, he opened the second Diggies venue in Kiama, adjacent to the iconic Blowhole.
Joining Stan in running the marketing and events for Diggies is Morgan, affectionately known as "Morgs." Growing up in the beloved Illawarra restaurant, Ruby's, Morgan developed a passion for food from an early age. After a successful marketing career working with retail brands like Westfield, she returned to Wollongong to support her husband in managing Diggies. Morgan finds great joy in organizing successful events and is a devoted mother to three of Diggies' most loyal little ones, Edison, Jemima, and Vivienne.
Alex, another local of the Gong, has traveled far and wide, gaining extensive hospitality experience in London, Canberra, Brisbane, and The Whitsundays. Returning to the Illawarra, she joined the Diggies team as Group Manager, overseeing the day-to-day operations of our various locations. Alex's positive and chirpy nature is a valuable asset to our team, and she always goes above and beyond to provide incredible customer service. When she's not living in the moment at work, Alex enjoys the joys and challenges of being a mother to her little boy and newborn daughter, Lucy.
At Diggies, our team is what sets us apart. With over 70 amazing individuals who love to create incredible vibes with a smile, we believe in the power of a dedicated and passionate staff. If you share our values and want to be a part of our growing team, don't hesitate to get in touch.

"Great place. Amazing view. Staff are friendly. Food is great. We had fish and chips and the fish tacos."
"Good spot to recharge after visiting the blow hole but my almond decaf flat white cost $7.50 which is quite a mark up from what I normally pay. Lucky the hot chips were great and not overpriced."
"I loved their food, but I didn't like their service at all. They were mostly busy talking to themselves, and if you asked anything, they would just pretend that they're busy with some other customers . A girl just told me that "Wait for a moment, can't you see I am busy with this table?" I found that really rude, I wanted to leave but then stayed calm and was there for two hours and nobodycame to our table even to checkup on us , I tried asking for some serviettes and cutlery and then went there myself to get it , that was just fine for me , but they asked me to go back and they would come to the table and even after finishing my meal there was no cutlery. Actually, customer service should be the first priority. Without any reason, the waiting queue was really long , I could clearly see them standing and talking to each other . The worst thing was that even if I wanted to ask for something, they would just ignore it it was horrible, but the coffee Was very nice , I enjoyed my breakfast other than poor customer service. Everything was good."
"We ordered fish and steak both were burnt. We had backpacks and jacket, the restaurant was not busy, I took an empty chair to put our stuffs and told to the guy the reason. The waiter took it from me and said you cannot have another chair and did not offer alternative. I looked around and all other customers had extra chair next to them. I asked lady and she gave us a stool to put our stuffs on top it. Poor quality and poor customer service."
"We attended a wedding reception here on the 18th March and this venue were outstanding in looking after us all and accommodating such a roudy crowd. The food was delicious and fresh and given it was canapes being brought around to us there was a nice variety and was always fresh and tasty. The barstaff were extremely helpful and service was amazing. Highly recommend this location for a function with such great surroundings as well."
