About the Business
Welcome to The Australian Motorlife Museum, located at Kembla Grange, Darkes Road, 94. As an establishment, museum, point of interest, and tourist attraction, we offer a unique experience for all car enthusiasts and history lovers.
Our museum is proud to have esteemed patrons such as Pedr Davis OAM, Jeremy Morris SC, Warren Brown AM, and Wayne Gardner AM. Their support speaks volumes about the quality and significance of our collection.
We are open from Wednesday to Sunday, from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm, allowing you ample time to explore our extensive exhibits. Please note that the last entry time is at 3.30 pm. We are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so plan your visit accordingly.
At The Australian Motorlife Museum, we not only showcase an impressive range of vehicles but also offer access to our extensive library. By appointment with the librarian, visitors can explore our collection of over 12,000 magazines, including renowned titles like Autosport, Motorsport, RCN, SCW, Wheels, Modern Motor, The Autocar, T&CC, C&SC, Road & Track, and various motorbike issues. Additionally, we have over 2,500 general motoring books and more than 5,000 reference and technical books, parts catalogs, workshop manuals, ephemera, maps, and other valuable resources.
For those interested in acquiring repair manuals for vehicles from the 1960s onwards, we have over 250 available for sale. These manuals are not consistent with the vehicles in our museum but can be valuable assets for enthusiasts. We also have duplicate and surplus magazines, which we offer at nominal costs to avoid them going to waste.
One of the highlights of our calendar is the National Motoring Heritage Day, celebrated annually on the 3rd Sunday of May. This initiative, supported by the Australian Historic Motoring Federation and historic motoring clubs across the country, provides vintage, veteran, and classic vehicle owners an opportunity to connect with like-minded enthusiasts. On this day, we welcome drivers and riders of all types of historic vehicles to our museum. We provide ample parking, a sausage sizzle, refreshments, and offer a special discounted admission of $15 for adults and $5 for kids aged 6 to 16.
The Australian Motorlife Museum is a must-visit destination for anyone passionate about cars, history, and the rich motoring heritage of Australia. Come and immerse yourself in a world of automotive wonders, explore our library, and connect with fellow enthusiasts. We look forward to welcoming you to our wonderful facility.

"It's an amazing place with about 100 cars . The volunteers here know so much about the museum and its contents a great morning out ."
"So much to see here. Fascinating range of 2 and 4 wheeled vehicles and other goodies. Knowledgeable and friendly staff to greet and assist you. I was surprised at just how vast the display was. It's huge and you will want to spend at least 2 hours here, and that's rushing it. Waze directed me to the old location of the museum. I should have just followed the signs. If you are interested in Australian automotive history then you have to see this. Plenty of parking."
"Loved it. Large collection of vintage cars, bikes, fire truck and accessories. My kids enjoyed seeing this and really amused. Surprisingly this museum has one car that exists only here and one in the world. The team maintains them like a gem. Great work!! Must visit place when you are heading towards Wollongong."
"Definitely a hidden gem. As the name suggests its a museum full of historic cars and trucks. Furthermore, there are so many different historical artifacts on display. Really enjoyed my time walking through and the people on the floor are highly knowledgeable on every piece of history in that place. Not many, but even a couple of trucks and a caravan little kids can climb on and look through"
"Went here with my grandson, and he found it interesting because he got to be pushed around part of the museum in a peddle car that was in the displays he was also allowed to ride in the car ride next to the front door. He liked some of the cars and the little caravan that you were allowed inside to look, which were displayed in the museum."
