About the Business
Welcome to Ochre Medical Centre Claremont, a leading healthcare institution located at 35 Main Road in Claremont, Australia. As an establishment dedicated to providing exceptional health services, we are a point of interest for individuals seeking top-quality medical care.
At Ochre Medical Centre Claremont, we prioritize the well-being of our patients. We understand that medical procedures may sometimes incur additional charges, especially for services provided in our treatment room. These charges cover the excellent care delivered by our skilled nurses, including wound care, dressings, and various procedures. Rest assured, you will always be informed of any fees in advance.
Please note that at this time, we are unable to accept new patients at our practice. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.
Taking care of your health is of utmost importance, and we encourage you not to overlook conditions such as diabetes and bowel cancer. A quick type 2 diabetes test can be completed in just a minute, so don't delay in speaking to your doctor and getting checked. Additionally, by discussing with your doctor, undergoing regular bowel screening, and incorporating plenty of fiber into your diet, you can significantly reduce the risk of being among the 300 Australians diagnosed with bowel cancer each week.
To make your experience at our medical centre more convenient, we offer various online features. You can easily make and manage appointments, add them to your calendar, check in, and even monitor your position in the queue.
Our team of doctors at Ochre Medical Centre Claremont is comprised of highly qualified professionals. Dr. Meumann obtained his medical degree from the University of Tasmania and holds diplomas in Child Health and Obstetrics. Dr. Vincent Horton grew up in Ulverstone on Tasmania's Northwest Coast and completed medical school at UTAS. Dr. Helene Curtis graduated from the University of Tasmania in 1988, completed her internship in Auckland, NZ, and returned to Australia. Dr. Rohan Kerr graduated from Monash University in 1996 and has extensive experience at renowned hospitals in Victoria.
Ochre Medical Centres are known for their high-quality healthcare services, with a diverse team of experienced male and female General Practitioners available to cater to your medical needs.
Starting from 1st October 2023, we will be introducing MyMedicare, a program aimed at strengthening the relationship between you as a patient and our healthcare providers.
Asthma affects nearly three million Australians, with breathing difficulties and lung damage posing significant risks. It is crucial to address these concerns, and we are here to support you.
At Ochre Health, we prioritize the well-being of our doctors, ensuring they can improve local healthcare while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. We invest heavily in developing and supporting our Practice Managers and their teams, as well as implementing advanced systems and technology.
Our location at Shop 24-25 Claremont Plaza on 35 Main Road in Claremont, TAS 7011, offers convenient access for our valued patients.
In light of the ongoing flu season and the current circumstances, we kindly request that you wear masks or face-coverings during your visit. If you have any cold or flu symptoms, we encourage you to book a telehealth appointment (phone or video) instead of visiting in person. If a face-to-face appointment is necessary and you have symptoms, please wear a mask or provide a negative Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) result. We appreciate your understanding as our resources may be stretched, and we prioritize acutely unwell patients, as well as providing care and advice for flu and COVID patients. This may result in some delays and a shortage of routine and non-urgent appointments. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your continued support.
At Ochre Medical Centre Claremont, your health is our priority. Trust us to provide exceptional medical care and support, ensuring your well-being is always in capable hands.

"I was charged a full consult fee $85 for a 3.15 minute phone call to renew a script. I queried the fee but I didn’t hear back so assumed it had been waived. Then weeks later I got a bill in the mail which read “minimum 6 minute consult” … I called back to follow it up further and the excuse was “the Doctor was in your file for 8 minutes and he’s sticking by the charge.” He literally emailed me the existing script and hung up the phone then left for the day…. I’ve since paid the bill but l will be looking for a new Doctor…. Thanks but no thanks."
