"My horrible cinema experience on Sunday night 30/7: 1. Couldn't order pop top/ice cream with my popcorn and 2 drinks online so told the lady that when we paid for our tickets and she said the people on the other side giving our food can sort that out. Walked to the other side, told the other lady there to which she said she can't do anything so I had to go back to the other side with the original lady and sort it out. I told her (the other lady serving the food) that I was told (by the original lady who gave me the tickets) to talk her so the lady serving the food spoke to the original lady. Original lady told me to follow her back to the ticket sales area and there she'll handle it. I followed her back but instead of serving me she asked who was next and served others. I waited and thought she will serve me after them but no, she called out again 'who's next' at which I cut in and told her off. 2. There was a drink spill at the food serving area so we received our packet of m&ms drenched in sugary liquid. So wet and sticky m&ms packet, great. 3. The seat I sat in Cinema 5-J7 was broken. The reclining/declining didn't work. 4. Some young couple sat in the corner of the cinema and spoke the entire time with their phone brightness on the brightest setting. We had to move seats before things escalated. 5. The straw in my Large Cup was too soaked to continue drinking from so I had to drink from the Large Cup itself and risk spilling onto myself (and your seats). Also the ice kept hitting my teeth bcoz of your faulty straw. 6. Some fat lady needed to turn on her torch on her phone to walk down and back up the stairs. 7. I couldn't find anyone to complain to when the movie finished. No staff in sight. Anyone could've stolen the confectionary sitting outside and Hoyts wouldn't know. Worst cinema experience in my life."
"Great food selection, very comfortable seats that are like a recliner. Plenty of space. Worth checking it out."
"Just finished watching the much awaited Mission Impossible DR part 1 and I gotto say it was almost impossible to hear a thing. The volume was so low that my friend asked me to stop chewing the popcorn so he could hear what the characters were saying. Not the first time this happening and sadly not worth the money we spent. Its atrocious that we don't have a proper cinema theatre in Wollongong. 2 stars because the service and seats are nice. Might be my last visit to Hoyts Warrawong."
"Hoyts Warrawong proving to be their usual ever-loving customer friendly selves (haha yeah right!). Booked my ticket online so as to get a seat I like only to turn up to the Theatre at the time of my movie only to find the doors locked and a vague sign at the door telling me they aren't open and no one around to help me out and if I can get a refund or not. I know technical things can go wrong but given I booked online, it would have been nice to have been contacted telling me the theatre wouldn't be open."
