"Came 4 years ago and thought it was going to better. Booked only 1 night on purpose and glad I did. Rated it 3* then but with the same issues it needs to drop to a 2*. Place is a dated but ok decor. Place is clean and staff really helpful doing their best. Main gripes STILL are: Rooms are super hot even in the middle of winter. The AC was broken and when trying to get it to work blurted dust everywhere showing it hasn't been started in months. They got me a standup fan in the room to help (which only really worked after I did some repairs to it too). Road is noisy outside so windows can't really be kept open. No block out curtains. Place is lit up from 5am. Bring an eye mask!!"
"Stayed here a year ago for my wedding. We booked 4 double bedroom units and paid an expensive amount for them for the 2 nights. We arrived to only have 2 of the rooms ready, the 3rd was ready an hour later and the suite for myself and the bridesmaids wasnt ready for 2 hours after we arrived. When we booked we booked for 4 extra trundles beds which they didnt have and their solution to the mater was you have a toddler she can sleep on the couch.....right because i paid nearly 3k for my kid to sleep on the couch. Then they kept harrassing me and hounding me for payment to the point that i was crying because the credit card we initially booked it on didnt work which i kept telling them that my mum would be here soon and she would fix it up even after she had phoned and let them know. Staff and management were extremely rude, facailities were below average and the fact they dont advertise that you have to pay for parking you think it would be included in the price. Would never stay here again and have warned people away from it every time."
"Horrible, say they are mantra but are privately owned, so can't use any reward programs there, not even acor point only earn points can use them. Booked a room with balcony, they lied and said they had given us an upgrade, oh no it was a down grade to a little box no balcony and an overpowering smell of bleach, cracks in the walls and pocket. When we complained, they gave us a disability/ wheelchair specific room, which for tall people the benches were so low and the bathroom was not great. It would be a great room if you had a powered wheelchair. When we woke in the morning, the lift was out of order. Never going back!"
"In desperate need of a freshen up. Very dated and run down, not what I expected from a Mantra hotel. I've stayed at other Mantras and they've been lovely. This one looks like it hasn't had any money spent on it in 20 years. Can't fault the staff who can only work with what they are given."
"Lovely room and great facilities. In walking distance to train and Hospital. The only thing that i have negative is booking the same room for a second night, i got charged an extra $50 and they changed my door key. Got a phone call the next morning why i hadn't checked out, obviously not much communication I'd booked a second night. So when i got back from a very stressful day at 7.30pm i couldn't get in my room. Desk wasn't manned and had to wait for employee, which put the stress even higher. When i asked what would of happened if i got back half an hour later when office closed at 8pm and was told the new key would of been put in a box outside, like i knew this would happen. Surely if you book a second night, you could use the same key. Would i stay there again? Not sure, i was left quite disappointed"
