Golf Place Inn

"I stayed at the Golf Place Inn from the 18th to the 20th August 2023 in room 121. I was not going to say anything as I am not one to complain but the amount of money I had spent on this stay is making me feel so frustrated. We arrived and immediately felt worried at the pool area is in dismay. There was an old oven or something big and metal left on the outside of our room. Your staff had left cleaning cloths in the plant outside our door - I had to throw them in the rubbish heap. The room was a good size but I am not sure the last time it was mopped. Just half an hour of walking on the tiles and all our feet were black. The kitchen tap was leaking, miss matched cutlery and missing desert spoons. The iron was still new in the box - not opened. The smallest bin for a large room (and no bin in the bathroom). The master room had stained sheets so we had to buy bedding to sleep. There is a skylight in the bedroom which made it hard for the kids to sleep past 6am. The bathroom was the worst! People were working behind the toilet window, we could see them moving about so I am sure they could see us. We heard everything! The shower leaked and the whole area needed a good bleach. The final morning really tipped us over the edge. No water (at all) came from the shower! I called reception (who was rude on the phone) sent a staff member to assess. She knocked on the door and said “not sure what I’m doing here… I need to look at a shower”. She then asked if WE had turned the water off at the main. We were then informed maintenance was looking into it. We had been to a wedding the night before, we needed a shower before we left for home. No one offered the use of a different room. No timeframe was given. So we gave up and left. We couldn’t stop at the planned destinations on the was home with the kids as we all needed to shower. Our time away was cut short and we were so frustrated with our stay it dampened our weekend."

"The rooms are only half finished. We had one window that wouldn't close so we had cold air coming into the room. The TV is a cheap knock of TV. The beds ur very uncomfortable. The shower u have to wait about 10mins before u get hot water. The ladies that work there are very polite and the male is very very rude. Won't be going back at all."

"I had some concerns about the lack of cutlery and plates etc but my concerns were promptly addressed by management. The location is quiet, with nice views over the golf course. It is however a bit of a drive to the shops, My stay here has been a pleasant one."

"We recently stayed in this motel for two nights and were pleasantly surprised. The staff were extremely helpful and the room was clean and beds were comfy. The view of the golf course from our room was nice too. Not all rooms are pet friendly so make sure you check if you plan to bring your pet. We didn’t have issue with wifi and were glad we could access YouTube on their TV (it must be already connected to wifi)."

"Not a bad motel located on the port kembla golf course. Most rooms have views of the golf course. The motel was fully booked when we went. Room was spacious with queen and single. Beds comfy. Bathroom was functional and probably.needed some tlc. Wifi at the hotel was atrocious and could not cope with volume of connections. Motel has pool which seemed OK. Walking distance to lake Illawarra. OK for 1 or 2 nights but not week. Fridge , kettle and ironing board in room."
