At the Newcastle Anxiety Clinic, we pride ourselves on offering a caring and non-judgmental environment where clients can receive the support they need during difficult times. Our approach goes beyond just helping clients through their anxiety; we also strive to help them gain a better understanding of themselves and make meaningful changes to navigate life's difficulties.

Our therapy sessions typically run for approximately 50 minutes. While the Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommends a fee of $280 for a 50-minute psychology consultation, we have reduced our fees to $200 to ensure accessibility to good quality and affordable health services. If you have a valid referral, the current gap for our practice is around $64 per session.

To make payment convenient, we only accept credit or debit card payments processed electronically. Additionally, if you are referred by a General Practitioner or a Psychiatrist under the Better Access to Mental Health Care Programme, you may be eligible for a rebate of $136.35. We are able to process Medicare rebates at the same time as your session fees, and the rebate will be paid directly to the bank account you have provided Medicare.

We do have a cancellation policy in place to respect the time our Psychologists set aside for your appointment. Sessions cancelled less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time will be charged the full fee, while sessions cancelled less than 48 hours prior will be charged a 50% fee. Please note that cancellation fees cannot be claimed through Medicare or your health fund.

If you are covered for psychological services under your private health fund, you can claim for these services. The claimable amount per session and the number of sessions per calendar year will depend on your private health care plan. While we are unable to process transactions with private health insurance, we will provide you with an invoice after each session that contains all the information you need to assist with the claims process.

Please be aware that you cannot claim from Medicare and your health fund for the same consultation.
