With over 30 years of experience, Professor Cameron worked at Westmead Hospital and was the first specialist in pediatric dentistry to graduate in New South Wales. He has held significant positions in both public and private sectors, serving as the Head of the Department of Paediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics at Westmead for over 18 years. Additionally, he was a Visiting Senior Specialist at the Children's Hospital at Westmead and headed the discipline of Paediatric Dentistry at the University of Sydney.

Professor Cameron's areas of expertise include the management of pediatric dental trauma, dental and oro-facial anomalies, and pediatric oral medicine and pathology. He has a particular interest in providing dental care to children with special needs. Moreover, he runs a specialized clinic at Sydney Tongue Tie Clinic, focusing on infant feeding and tongue ties.

As a highly respected academic, Professor Cameron holds various clinical titles including Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Sydney, the University of Newcastle, and Conjoint Associate Professor at Charles Sturt University. He has also been a visiting Associate Professor at the University of Leeds. His knowledge and experience have been shared through extensive lectures both in Australia and internationally.

Professor Cameron's contributions to the field of pediatric dentistry go beyond his clinical work. He is the co-editor of the Handbook of Pediatric Dentistry, soon to be published in its 5th edition and translated into 7 languages. He has also contributed chapters to 7 other textbooks.

In terms of memberships and affiliations, Professor Cameron is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in England (FDSRCS), the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (FRACDS), the International College of Dentists (FICD), the Academy of Dentistry International (FADI), and the Pierre Fauchard Academy (FPFA). He is also a member of the RACDS in Paediatric Dentistry and the Australian Dental Association.

To ensure accessibility for patients, Professor Cameron provides his expertise at several locations in Sydney and the Central Coast of NSW. These locations include the Sydney Specialist Tongue Tie Clinic, Little Smiles Family Dental, Central Coast Orthodontics, and Ourimbah Oral Health University Clinic (please note that this location is not currently being used).
