Over the years, The Golden Buddha has been known for its affordability without compromising on quality. However, due to the prevailing inflationary conditions, we have made the decision to increase prices on all our available menus, including takeaway, dine-in, and lunch options. This adjustment is necessary to ensure that we can continue providing the same level of excellence that our customers have come to expect from us.
Please be aware that The Golden Buddha will be closed for the Christmas holidays from Saturday, 24th of December 2022, and will reopen on Tuesday, 10th of January 2023. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the delay in notifying our customers through our website. Posters have been placed in the restaurant to inform our patrons of the closure.
In line with government policies, we have made necessary adjustments to our services. Currently, our restaurant only offers takeaway and Uber Eats order services. We kindly request all customers to enter the courtyard of the restaurant through the side entrance path. We appreciate your cooperation during this time.
Additionally, we understand the importance of catering to the needs of our younger customers. If you're planning a kids' party, we have some delightful suggestions. While not traditional party food, kids adore candy at parties. Create an eye-catching display by pouring single-colored lollies into fancy jars, adding cute tags, and grouping them together. This will surely bring joy to the little ones at your event.

"Terribly over priced. Dined in. Order was taken incorrectly with a dish missing. $12 for large steamed rice (ordered a medium) is exorbitant! $23 for basic standard Chinese dishes that was far from succulent. Service was slow (40 minute wait and was the only one dining in). No fortune cookies. I would not recommend."
"Been a customer for years and watched it deteriorate in all areas. It has got to be one of Newcastles most expensive Chinese restaurants also. Tonight’s stuffed up order ( a regular occurrence) was the last straw. Can’t make any more excuses for them. Goodbye Buddha."
"Drove an hour to go here as it's been good meals in the past, service was extremely slow, had a banquet for 6 ppl and each meal that came out was the size of a bread and butter plate every dish each person could just take one spoonful of food and it was gone. Took a good hour for our drinks to even be served, we have always had a few full containers of food to bring home left over at every banquet we have been too besides this one, the serving sizes were absolutely ridiculous so small. Won't be back again we had friends from Sydney with us and it was really embarrassing the amount off food to try and share between us. They told us a few times their menu had not been upgraded or the prices, well that's their fault not the customers if they don't keep there menu up dated but it seemed they cut the meal sizes in half to compensate very bad business.Shame on you."
"This could easily have been a 5 star review, the food was great at first, however after taking 2 hours for the golden banquet for 6 people the food quality continued to decrease as the night prolonged, the courses were not staged. Entrees came out first then there was an hour and 15 minutes waiting for the mains. At first I thought it was going to be really good but just got worse as the night went on, from other reviews I had high hopes, so I hope this was just a bad night for them"
"Don’t go here. Hair in food. Asked for no beef and got beef. Partner asked for food to be mild and was so spicy… went with a group of people and they forgot someone’s meal and they had to make it last minute and everyone else had completely finished. Still made us pay for it. $25 for a late rushed meal"
