"I recently reached out to Piano Rescuers for a quote to relocate a piano, internally clean it, and fix a single key. They quoted me an eyebrow-raising $1650—and that didn’t even cover tuning. Wanting to ensure I wasn't being overcharged, I sought quotes elsewhere. I ended up paying just $270 for the relocation and a mere $350 for the cleaning, repair, and a tune. That’s right, a total of $620. More than a thousand dollars less than what Piano Rescuers asked for, and I even got a tuning thrown in. When I informed Mathias from Piano Rescuers about this big difference in price, he defended it by claiming they "...offer a premium service and our costs are a lot higher" But even with that, a $1030 difference not accounting for tuning seemed to me to be downright excessive. For those considering Piano Rescuers, be wary of their so-called "premium service" and do your wallet a favor by shopping around first. The difference can be startling."
