CSIROCare

CSIROCare is a non-profit community-based early childhood service located on the CSIRO Black Mountain site in Canberra's Inner North. Our institution, which is administered by a parent management committee, is dedicated to providing a caring and safe environment for children aged 0 to 6 years. We are proud to offer a variety of programs and activities that foster learning and development, both indoors and outdoors.

Our purpose-built building is equipped with spacious and inviting play spaces, allowing children to explore and engage in activities that reflect their interests. Our recently renovated large playground, along with the proximity to bushland and the Australian National Botanic Gardens, provides ample opportunities for outdoor exploration and learning experiences.

At CSIROCare, we prioritize the well-being and education of our children. Our team of qualified educators, with extensive experience in early childhood education, ensures that each child receives individual attention and support. Most of our educators hold diplomas, and we also have two qualified Early Childhood Teachers on staff.

We believe in equality and diversity, and we actively foster collaborative partnerships with families and communities. Our multicultural center welcomes everyone, celebrating and embracing differences.

In addition to our commitment to providing a nurturing environment, we are dedicated to continuous improvement. Through regular self-assessment, critical reflection, and staff surveys, we continually review our practices to deliver quality education and care that exceeds the National Quality Standards.

We understand the importance of nutrition in a child's development, which is why we provide morning tea, afternoon tea, and a late snack. Parents are requested to supply lunch, and our fully equipped kitchen, staffed by certified food safety professionals, can accommodate most dietary restrictions and allergies.

At CSIROCare, each child receives quality learning experiences that lay a strong foundation for their lifelong journey of learning. Our programs, including Active 8, Rocking Horse Music, ATSI, Recycling, Sustainability, and Celebrations, cater to various interests and promote holistic development.

We are proud to offer an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Program, recognizing and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Australia's First Nations peoples. Through this program, we aim to create a deeper understanding and appreciation of Indigenous culture among our children.
