About the Business
Welcome to Beauty Central Gungahlin Act, your go-to beauty salon and establishment in Gungahlin, Australia. Located on Hibberson Street, we are a point of interest for all your beauty needs.
At Beauty Central, we prioritize the health and well-being of your nails and skin. Before any treatment, we ensure that your nails and the surrounding skin are thoroughly cleansed to remove any dirt or impurities. We use an acetone-free remover to eliminate traces of your previous nail color, as other removers can dry out your nails unnecessarily.
Our expert technicians apply soap to a toothbrush and gently scrub your nails and skin. This gentle exfoliation removes dirt and dead skin without the need for harsh chemicals or expensive scrubs, ensuring a healthy and rejuvenated look.
We always handle your nails with care, as they are delicate and prone to infection. We avoid using metal nail tools under the nail, as excessive digging can cause the nail plate to separate from the skin, resulting in irregular white arching nail tips.
Regular trims are essential for maintaining the health of your nails, just like regular haircuts. We recommend trimming your nails every two weeks and adjusting the frequency based on how your nails respond.
While long nails can be beautiful, we understand that some individuals struggle with snags or breakage. In such cases, we suggest keeping your nails short, at least initially. A shorter style with a rounded edge is easier to manage and looks neater. As long as each nail is uniform in shape and matches its neighboring nails, you won't miss the added length.
To address wear and tear caused by work or gym routines, we advise keeping an emery board handy to smooth away any rough edges. Working in one direction with the grain of your nail ensures a smoother finish.
Cuticles play a vital role in sealing the area at the base of the nail. Cutting or removing the cuticle breaks this protective seal, making you susceptible to bacteria and infection. We recommend leaving cuticles alone as much as possible. If you prefer to address them, gently push them back once a week with a wooden orange stick after showering. Massage them with a cuticle cream or thick, creamy lotion for added nourishment.
Maintaining clean and disinfected nail tools is crucial to prevent infections. We advise washing metal tools with soap and water and then wiping them with rubbing alcohol. Disposable tools like emery boards should be replaced regularly to ensure optimal hygiene.
Give your nails a break from elaborate nail art and bold colors with high pigmentation. During the week, allow your nails to rest and repair by applying a clear gloss. Constantly applying strong polish colors without breaks can dry out your nails, cause discoloration, and weaken their structure over time.
Moisturizing is essential for healthy nails, just like it is for your face. Use a mix of almond and avocado oils or any nutrient-rich oil or moisturizer to keep your cuticles and nails hydrated. In a pinch, a dab of lip balm can also do the trick.
When engaging in activities that involve harsh chemicals or dirtying your hands, protect them with rubber, vinyl, nitrile, or plastic gloves, preferably with a cotton liner. Cleaning dishes without gloves or getting your hands dirty while gardening can weaken your nails. Additionally, during cold weather, wearing mittens or gloves prevents dry, flaky, and scaly skin caused by the cold air and wind.
Your diet plays a significant role in the health of your nails. Since nails are made of keratin, a protein, you can improve their strength and appearance by adjusting your diet. Consider incorporating vitamins and supplements like biotin, Vitamin E, and fish oil, as well as protein-rich foods like beans, fish, and nuts.
At Beauty Central Gungahlin Act, we are dedicated to providing you with stronger, clearer nails. Visit us today and experience the difference of our expert care and attention to detail.

"I’m highly dissatisfied with the service. I went for eyelashes extensions and it starts falling off within couple of hours without even touching or washing my face. Waste of money. Don’t recommend to others."
"Went to this place for the first time on the weekend to get my Acrylic Nails done and they were great. Fast service (probably because I arrived quite early in the day) and did them exactly as requested. Price was what I pay anywhere else normally"
"I haven't done my nails in a really long time because I like to do it myself with regular nail polish. But I had a wedding on Sat and since I had a baby it's not easy to do it myself. So I decided to give this place a chance. Big mistake. I am giving a one star for the lady that did my toes. She was so lovely and did a very neat job. BUT the lady that did my finger nails did terible job. Mind you, I did my nails on Friday late afternoon and shellac has already chipped on all of my fingers. Do not let me even start on poor customer service! Another thing, place is COVERED in nail dust and very unsanitary. Save yourself money and go to a better place."
