About Lake Tuggeranong District Park
Welcome to Lake Tuggeranong District Park, a breathtaking establishment located in Greenway, Australian Capital Territory. As a prominent park and tourist attraction, this institution offers visitors a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the beauty of the Australian environment.
Managed by the Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development Directorate - Environment, Lake Tuggeranong District Park is dedicated to preserving the natural wonders of the region. Before embarking on your adventure, we encourage you to check for any alerts or updates to ensure a seamless experience in our parks and reserves.
We value your feedback and invite you to share your thoughts on your visit to national parks, nature reserves, and plantations across the ACT. Your input will contribute to the ongoing improvement of our facilities and services, as we strive to provide the best possible experience for all visitors.
At Lake Tuggeranong District Park, we take pride in our commitment to sustainable development. The Caring for Dhawura Ngunnawal plan, shaped by the Canberra community's input and supported by extensive scientific research, guides our efforts in preserving the natural heritage of the area.
As a testament to our dedication, we are thrilled to announce that 18 projects have been selected to receive funding through the esteemed 2023-24 ACT Heritage Grants program. This investment of $344,000 will further enhance the beauty and accessibility of our parks and reserves for future generations to enjoy.
Please note that the Red Rocks cliff in Bullen Range Nature Reserve will be temporarily closed from 1 August to 31 December. This closure is essential to protect the breeding season of the Peregrine Falcons, ensuring their continued presence in our ecosystem.
In line with our commitment to ecological preservation, prescribed burns will be conducted at Pialligo and Kambah. These controlled burns are vital for maintaining the health and biodiversity of the surrounding areas.
Furthermore, a partial closure of Bullen Range Nature Reserve will be implemented to safeguard the Peregrine Falcons. This measure is necessary to provide a safe and undisturbed environment for these magnificent birds during their breeding season.
Lastly, we would like to inform you of occasional reserve closures during the Eastern Grey Kangaroo Management Program. These closures are crucial for managing the kangaroo population and maintaining the ecological balance within our parks and reserves.
We invite you to explore the wonders of Lake Tuggeranong District Park and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Australia. Whether you're seeking a peaceful stroll, a family outing, or a chance to reconnect with nature, our institution promises an unforgettable experience.

Reviews of Lake Tuggeranong District Park
"I go there everyday there's now a food van there"
"Nice scenery and always great for a walk at any time of day (or night). But man, does it smell when that algae heats up on a summer's day. Also the amount of garbage that floats (or gets purposefully thrown) into the lake from the nearby Maccas and KFC is DISGUSTAHNG."
"Need a good distance walk or jog - do a circuit around the lake on a very good walking and cycling track. It is just a bit over 7kms. Mostly level going. The track is accessible from various car parking areas. Passes Maccas and KFC if that is your wont. Great little adjacent facilities - kids pushbike practice and learning area, two off-leash dog socialising and excercising pens, two toilet locations, and more."
"Great walk any time of the year"
"Great park for a walk. About 6.7km all the way round. A lack of water fountains - well scarce anyway. But you could always time it so you make a brief detour into the shopping centres or cafes.."
