Reviews of Exeter Hotel
"One of the go to pubs in South Australia. The scene has changed for ages and that's what gives it charm. However the menu stays fresh, the drinks are always cold, with great service from the amazing staff and the location on Rundle Street, where you can watch the Adelaide bustle roll by, is second to none!"
"Best mushroom gravy schnitty in the city. Bet on it. Look, nah, every pub has beer and all that jazz, yeah? But the true difference between a good and a great pub is its mushroom gravy chicken schnitty. Now I'll smash a "heart" (prepackaged) schnitty with instant gravy any day and not turn my nose up, but the Exeter has proper PROPER schnitty and the mushroom gravy is a tier above with big chunky slices of mushroom in it, none of this tiny mushroom bits what other pubs do. You've made me a very happy two-head, Exeter, if only I could put you on the back of my Ute and take you home to Tassie with me."
"Boorish services as usual, as the counter staff are usually aloof, especially towards non Caucasian patrons. I only go there for a quickie before or after going to neighbouring restaurants. I just look beyond such poor attitudes, and stick to enjoying my beers there."
"Love this pub...it's still a proper pub, with character and its own unique style. So unique. If you're showy, focused on looking good or trying to show you're having good time this isn't the pub for you...if you're genuine, quirky, come from all walks of life, eclectic and accepting of others then this could be your pub. Food is great and staff are fun... the whole place is just special."
"Beers cold as. There is a toastie machine here. Is there Cooper’s pale ale on tap? Yes. Is there an ATM inside??? Yes. Beer garden you say? Yep….outdoor area to be a cigi but brain?……yea mate. Old guy in the corner (there’s always one here) where he’s on his 8-9th mid. Exeter. 5 star ⭐️"
