Bumbles Cafe
About the Business
Welcome to Bumbles Cafe, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Budds Beach, just a 5-minute walk from the bustling Surfers Paradise in Australia. As a beloved institution, Bumbles is more than just a cafe; it is a place where locals gather each morning, sipping their favorite coffees and catching up on the morning paper.
For residents of the Gold Coast, Bumbles has become an extension of their own homes and kitchens. It is the go-to spot for a delicious breakfast of salmon benedict and freshly squeezed juice, enjoyed while catching up with friends. Some even arrive by jetski on the beach and grab a take-away lunch to savor later.
During the week, Bumbles transforms into a hub of activity. The 'Blueroom' fills with professionals in pinstriped suits holding meetings, while book-club ladies gather for their regular lunches. Mid-week celebrations of all shapes and sizes unfold, creating a vibrant atmosphere.
Bumbles Cafe continues to evolve, capturing the taste buds and imagination of its visitors. What started as a small cafe with just four outdoor tables and a bench seat inside has now expanded to accommodate 60 guests indoors, with an additional 40 seats in the alfresco river-view area. The pavement has been extended to maximize the beautiful river view, and new rooms have been added over the years, including the 'picture room,' 'blue room,' and 'the alley.' The lounge and dining rooms were also upgraded, ensuring a comfortable and inviting space for all.
But Bumbles is not just a cafe; it is also a venue for unforgettable events. Our unique and boutique events are like entertaining at home, but with the added charm and elegance of Bumbles. Whether you're planning a wedding, engagement party, birthday celebration, Christmas party, baby shower, or corporate event, our intimate functions are tailored to your needs. We can create formal elegant dinners, casual cocktail parties, or a combination of both.
Join us for our popular $45pp offer, where you can choose your meal and enjoy bottomless mimosas for an hour. Please note that it's "one in all in" for the table, and no booking is required. If you're in the mood for a drink, our liquor can be purchased between 10.30am and 10pm.
At Bumbles, we pride ourselves on providing an experience like no other. Our passion for food and great coffee shines through in every dish we serve. "Savoury breakfast items were 5/5 for the price but sweet breakfast was 3/5 as it’s expensive and limited menu. Coffee was absolutely delicious. Service and the atmosphere was absolutely stunning. The whole vibe of this cafe is GORGEOUS!!!! 100% recommend if you love savoury breakfasts !!!"
"Beautiful place, atmosphere and fabulous food. Absolutely magical dining at night. A very special place in our own backyard"
"Beautiful place that faces the peaceful river/stream. It's not a not busy road so it's quite nice to seat outside and watch the world go by. Oh the inside is huge! They have many quaint rooms and tables indoors. Service staff is very attentive and friendly. Food. My poached eggs were fully cooked inside. Toast was rather dry and hard. Coffee (I got the flat white) is really good. I would go back again, maybe try another dish. Many free parking spaces just opposite the restaurant."
"Totally forgot I had been here before (well it had been over ten years!) and booked in for high tea, note high tea has to be pre paid at least 24 hours in advance. Given their expertise with cakes I thought high tea would be sensational but it was just okay. The sandwiches were dry and I firmly believe high tea necessities two scones not one. Staff were on top of my dietary requirements though which was something. Lovely atmosphere but unfortunately the food fell short Original review Had breakfast enjoying the beautiful aroma of stunning fresh flowers and the lovely relaxing breeze. There were beautiful looking cakes in the window and a fun kitschy decor. Great little spot"
