Reviews of Modbury High School
"If I could rate this school lower than 1 star, I would. I feel as though this school is on a downward spiral. Student behavior is becoming ridiculous and is making the environment dangerous, and outlandish restrictions on uniform and out of bounds areas further contributes to the downfall of this school. I have noticed many of my friends leaving this school and going to another, and every single one of them has said that their new school is much better. This school has a bad reputation after the taking off of the toilet doors entered the news, and now it has been stated that it could happen again? That would be the final nail in the coffin for this schools dignity and reputability. The teachers personally harass the students, calling them stupid among others, even if they have learning difficulties. It is a common sight to see students walking out of classes crying because of the extreme expectations of the teachers. The Education Department already has its scopes set on this schools reputability. As seen from almost all the reviews of this school in the last year and a half, I do not recommend sending students to this school."
"teachers think if you miss one day of school your going to fail and die. they only respect you if your an A+++ student because they want to brag to the private schools that all there students are smart . most the teachers when you get past year 9 are old and mad all the time and they always give you too much homework, to the point that you don't get you any sleep. but if you get Guy Harrison, he makes school somewhat ok. school is bad don't come here"
"This school has no intention of educating your child. If they have adhd and borderline autism then they are suspended all the time. For my children that don't have mental health issues they don't do a good job either. They pretend to listen and care but they don't do anything discussed in meetings to support as they said they would. As my daughter says all they do is yell at her and make her feel bad"
"uniform is way to strict, shoes must be only black, if there is any other color at all even just a small bit you get told off and need to use a black marker to cover it. cant have a shirt under your school shirt even if its barley showing. cant wear cargo pants though they should be aloud if there navy. small jewelry pieces as rings, bracelets and necklaces that aren't bothering the class, or you forget about you could get a detention, but teachers can? also they can wear branded clothing and anything they want. now other then uniform the teaching itself is alright. a couple teachers need to improve, but most of them are satisfactory can't complain about the subjects itself. but how those teachers try to teach you about it don't work in short, and a lot of students don't understand or aren't even doing the work. counseling is great, could be better with the time management and scheduling."
