"Had the most bizarre experience while being served by a staff member, the staff member (I have forgotten their name but happy to describe the staff member if asked) approached me and a friend and asked if we needed help. We didn’t need any help we just needed to pay for our items. The staff member helped us by finalising the transaction, the staff member then proceeded to have a conversation with us for about 10 mins about their life and we talked about a few things and common interests, it was a rather normal conversation up to this point with nothing out of the ordinary. The staff member brings up Stevie wonder and how they like his music. I said how I wasn’t too familiar with Stevie wonder as it’s not my generations kind of music but might check it out. Without a moments notice the staff member completely disengaged with our conversation. They appeared to be looking behind us but I looked around and nobody was their. I said “anyway we better get going thanks for all your help” and the staff member completely ignored us and maintained focus on a seemingly invisible thing behind us. We were extremely spooked by it all so we just turned around and walked towards the exit. The staff member maintained their silence as if myself and my friend was not even there. It was the most bizarre sudden change of pace I’ve ever experienced in my entire life and I’m still completely mystified why the staff member had suddenly stopped talking and looked into the distance at nothing. Is this a regular thing that happens, my friend and I couldn’t work out what had happened and spoke about it for hours after and had no reasonable explanation for it. Giving this store a 1 star review due to the lack of professionalism displayed by the staff member. We spent a few hundred dollars before being completely ignored and treated like ghosts due to saying I wasn’t familiar with Stevie wonder it seems? Left extremely confused and frustrated and would hope this staff member would be able to have a reasonable explanation for this behaviour."

"I was shopping in David Jones Marion on Thursday night the 13/4 for a dress to wear to a wedding among other things I needed to buy for my trip away. I felt like I was invisible because not 1 person offered me any assistance at all. I am a long time David Jones shopper but that shopping trip left me feeling pretty low with sales staff walking by not interested in offering any assistance. I left David Jones feeling quite deflated and not overly keen to go back to the Marion store which is a shame because it is now the closest David Jones to me."
