"Nice piece of history here. Right next to Hackney road, so expect some noise. The only way into the garden is via the shared bike path / walkway. But beware! The cyclists are pretty fast on the path, so keep your eyes open."
"This reserve was the site of the South Australia Company's Mill built in circa 1845 and run by my Great Great Grandfather until 1871. It was demolished 4 years later. Sad. In the UK they would have turned it into a youth hostel for that unique experience/memory of a "Stay in SA". The cottage in this photo, was where John Stevens' Family lived when running the Mill. It was demolished in the 1970s to create the Caravan Park alongside the Old Mill Reserve. Known as Park Farm, it was set up by the SA Company as a crop experimental project to establish what grows where!"
