Reviews of Prouds the Jewellers
"Great customer service: Ruth was very patience with me and my partner, and explained the difference of the wedding bands."
"I will never buy from Prouds Jewellers ever again. My husband bought me a tennis bracelet, set with small diamonds for my 60th birthday from Prouds Joondalup, and the first time I wore it the clasp became completely jammed. The clasp was obviously faulty and while trying to undo it, one of the links slightly bent. I took it back as I had a warranty but was told they would have to send it to their head office jewellers to be assessed and repaired. When I returned weeks later I was told by a very rude young sales assistant that “I must have caught it on something” and so they wouldn’t honour the warranty and it would cost $50 to repair! After one wear! Now my daughter has had the same issue with a baby bracelet that broke the first time it was put on. She took it to Prouds Innaloo and paid $50 to have one tiny link repaired as it was a gift, and the second time she put it on it broke again! Lift your game Prouds and the quality of your gold or you will lose many more customers at this rate. If this has happened to two people in one family in the space of a few months, I wonder how many others have been affected in the same way?? Very unsatisfied customers and if I could I would have given a zero star rating for poor quality jewellery, disregarding warranties and rude service."
"My wedding ring did not arrive in time. Not much more needs to be said, but read on... Paid deposit on 15/2, was told it will arrive in 4-6 weeks. I called them on 8/4 (over 7 weeks), ETA on 14/4 (the day before the wedding, over 8 weeks by then). Radio silence on the 14th. Received a call on 18/4, ring's here. Went in-store to discuss my situation, but neither ladies could help and I have to speak to the store manager when she is next in. She calls on 26/4. Reason being "the machine broke". When? Couldn't give me an answer. She could not offer me any discount, or any refund on the deposit. She then spoke to her Regional Manager who also stood firm on any sweeteners. She had to go higher to the General Manager who approved a $100 discount. I reluctantly accept. I'll bet many others wouldn't. I honestly can't think of a bigger faux pas as a jeweller. If you need something on time, don't shop here."
"Do you need the hinge of your bangle repaired? Well, this is the place for you. Not only will we use cement based glue that’ll dry gray, we’ll also try and sand off the dried glue tarnishing the jade and the gold hinge. Not happy with the result? Is the damage clearly visible when compared to the bangle’s clasp and it’s adjacent joint with the jade? Then give us another chance where we’ll sand it off some more, but this time, we’ll also sand and mangle the clasp on the other side so now the whole of the bangle has lost its lustre. This way, hopefully you don’t realise how poorly the repair was done."
"The assistant manager Jessica in this store is disgustingly rude and deceptive. My mother was misled to purchase one earring. She was not informed at any stage that the earring stud was not sold as a pair and was never shown the item as is customary when purchasing jewellery. The earring was displayed in a box with two holes clearly designed for a pair of earrings. Upon opening the box when she was only steps away from the till and discovering that there was only one side of the pair inside, she returned to the counter. She was refused a refund and was told by Jessica that "we need to make money too, you know." I thought this response was absurd and ridiculous. She berated my mother and left her feeling old, helpless and discriminated against. We are now left with a single earring and the deflated feeling of having been fooled by the staff at this store. Overall, horrible treatment especially of older unsuspecting customers."
