"Shocking!! Director member broke down crying to my son's dad pretending as though I was upset with her. Conveniently as soon as he told her war aren't taking it further, she stopped crying. I told the director I kindly asked a staff member to please not to yell at my son, after she pointed, frowned and raised her vice at a group of children right next to us. I told her my son will be scared of this behavior and has had a bad experience previously at his last childcare center. I said he may also be autistic, but we aren't sure yet. The director wouldn't have it and kept making excuses as to why it's fine to yell at children such as "some staff just talk like this" and I am always in the rooms and this never happened, mind you she was never anywhere to be seen always locked away in the office. I told her anger is not how people speak, it's anger. She proceeded to text me all day, until I mentioned the laws and regulations (as if I should even have to!) I told her I will have to take this further if she keeps resecting like this and it is illegal to treat children like that, and that my son is not coming back. Conveniently as soon as he told her war aren't taking it further, she stopped crying. Other issues at hand: Staff authoritative, they point, frown and order, rather than speak to children. You can clearly see by how dull and dirty the floor is that none of the rooms are ever mopped. My child weas sick almost every single time he went in, for that reason we only sent him if we had to, mind you this doesn't happen in his current center. The play areas quite dodgy; makeshift areas that look like they were built by hand to save money. Safety regarding play equipment is definitely a concern. Upon arrival to book our son in (out of desperation for lack of other centers available), staff told us they aren't busy, and they don't have a lot of money, hence the poor play equipment. Some staff nice, but others bossy and unnecessarily rude, in the time I spend during orientation, I interreacted with the children more than the staff."
"My son didn't get a chance to do transition days as i didn't have the time with my work. The wonderful staff in the baby room took such good care and made going back to work so easy for me. For that i highly recommend this childcare. My son loves it and is so happy there."
"Between two children I have known the staff at Blue Skies for 6 years now from the baby room through to the kindy room and highly recommend them. I know a lot of other families that use Blue Skies and they are very happy with the services too. The staff are friendly, genuine and the kids love spending time with them."
"Couldn’t recommend highly enough. I dreaded the day my daughter went into childcare, but the ladies in the baby room were so wonderful, patient, understanding and comforting. The transition went better than I could have ever imagined. Blue skies is more of a home setting and much more comfortable than the typical government run centres. The staff are always so happy, helpful and really do treat us like family. I love childcare days because I know my daughter has a ball, gets well fed with delicious home made food and is safe creating memories with some really lovely people and her first friends. The centre is away from main roads, has animals, plenty of equipment and toys, it’s always clean, they go on excursions to the play cafe or park up the road, lots of outdoor play... very happy here."
"Whilst being very nervous about my son starting childcare, I found Blue Skies online as it is close to my home. I showed up to the centre without calling prior and all the staff were so lovely, and more than happy to show me though. Instantly I felt relieved and like Id found the perfect place to care for my son. In the weeks leading up to him starting I popped in many times and each and every time we were welcomed in with open arms. Now 4 weeks after attending for 4days a week my son is so happy there and settled in fantastically. I feel like were a part of the little Blue Skies family. Definitely recommend to anyone who feels uneasy about putting their baby in care, the staff are just wonderful."
