"The weekly rent seems daunting at first but begins to look pretty okay when you think about the following: proximity to school, proximity to a bus station, meals, weekly cleaning, and student programs. For a busy student, these things free up a lot of time for study. If the first room you get is not to your liking, it is easy to talk to the staff. Most Resident Advisers are nice, too, except for a few - It’s too long to elaborate, but you can do a vibe check at the dining hall. Im just lucky to live in a floor where the RA is nice and mature. The food is a hit or miss. I agree with one of the reviews that the rice tends to be undercooked. I hope they’ll put more water and fluff up the rice to make it soft and delicious. The beef and lamb tends to be tough. Food also tends to be either bland or salty. Most of the time, oily. So if there seems to be a lot of food waste, I hope admin will consider that it may be because the food is not edible. But I also agree with another previous review that there’s something you can eat because of the variety. They serve a lot of veggies and fruits so that’s something I like. The environment in this place seems to prioritize extroversion, though. And this can be a bit stressful for introverts who need time to adjust. I thought I was doing fine making friends at my own pace….until Orientation Week happened. I hope this place will also consider that not all residents are extroverts as all activities seem to be built for extroverts. The activities just eat up a lot of one’s energy and time. Can’t wait for this week to be over so that I can recover. I tried to be as fair as I can in this review, pointing out both the positive and the negative. Hope this helps."
"I never stayed in this accomodation, I just think $465 for a shared room without kitchen, bathroom, and parking is just like throw the money into the water..."
"Paying $37 a day for three meals and a room to stay in is enough to give 5 stars. There are also countless friendly staff members and residents, and the college is located in an extremely accessible part of the university. Food isn’t that bad because there’s always a wide enough variety to find something you’ll enjoy. One star reviews are off a perc."
"paying $260+ per week for just a room with no bathroom and kitchen, the only merit of this place is providing meals 3 times per day. But don’t get so happy, the food here sucks. It’s always chicken, all day everyday, and it’s always dry. The pasta is always over cooked. The rice on the other hand is not fully cooked, you’ll get stomachache and broken teeth after that. The only food you can rely on is baked or steam beans and carrots, if you’re okay with that."
"New but everything is broken: - the so-called air con is not cool in the summer, and in winter the heater mode is not working as well. Worst of all, water leaks from it and the whole floor is wet. For days. It’s a wooden floor btw. They said the maintenance provider company has gone bankrupted so no one is fixing it. - drinking water tap (which provide chill and hot water) broken, but not surprisingly no one is fixing it again. Note they don’t allow people boil water in their room, so don’t think of getting a cup of hot chocolate or coffee in your own time. The water coming out from a regular water tap is not filtered as well. - the wifi connection is so unstable from time to time. There are no mobile signal in some rooms. You’ll be disconnected from online lecture quite often, unless you pay extra for their “premium” wifi network - plenty of stories heard on no hot water in shower/ no water coming out from the shower, window blind broken, doors broken so no entry through particular places, etc Message to take away: Think twice before you choose to live here, for this price you’re paying you can have much better choices"
