Enright Studio is a point of interest and an establishment that is part of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). For over 30 years, WAAPA has been dedicated to helping students achieve their dreams of successful careers in the performing arts and entertainment industries.
At WAAPA, there's never a dull moment. The academy is a constant hive of activity, offering a packed program of performances each year. Our world-class teaching staff and specialist tutors bring their knowledge and skills gained from professional experience on stage and behind the scenes, ensuring that students receive top-notch education.
WAAPA is proud to offer an impressive range of production, rehearsal, teaching, and performance facilities and services. These state-of-the-art resources support our students and academics in their artistic endeavors. In addition to degree and VET courses, WAAPA also provides corporate training and short courses across various disciplines.
As the most comprehensive performing arts training institution in Australia, WAAPA offers training both on stage and behind the scenes. Our weekend and holiday workshops, taught by WAAPA staff and industry professionals, provide practical tuition in areas such as acting, singing, music, dance, and music theatre.
We are thrilled to offer Professional Development opportunities for Drama, Music, and Dance teachers. These workshops, taught by world-renowned staff, take place in our state-of-the-art performance and teaching facilities.

WAAPA postgraduate students and staff engage in research and collaboration across a wide spectrum of performing arts disciplines. From music to dance, production and design, arts management, and more, our research groups focus on various disciplines in the world of arts, education, and performance.

The WAAPA Accent and Dialect collection is a valuable resource containing over 300 audio samples from 60 countries of origin.
Excitingly, we now offer a brand new Corporate Training program. Led by leading artists, practitioners, and educators with real-world experience, this program translates professional performing arts training and advanced techniques into tangible skills for individuals and organizations.
The Enright Studio, named in honor of the late great Nick Enright, offers a flexible black box space for productions and rehearsals. With a floor area of 10.7m x 12.9m and equipped with 70 removable seats and platforms, the venue can be configured in various production formats or cleared completely for use as a rehearsal studio.
Enright Studio has witnessed many outstanding productions performed by second-year Acting, Musical Theatre, and Aboriginal Performance students. Recent musicals include Threepenny Opera, Company, and Loving Repeating. Theatre productions have included The Caucasian Chalk Circle, The Cherry Orchard, Uncle Vanya, Ivanov, The Seagull, Under Milkwood, and specially devised plays like Stolen and Frankenstein and The Lion of Nemea by acclaimed Western Australian playwright, David Milroy.
