About Great Beginnings Floreat
Welcome to Great Beginnings Floreat! Located in the heart of Floreat, our purpose-built child care and early learning centre is the perfect place for your child to start their educational journey. Situated on Newry Street, our centre is conveniently accessible for families living or commuting through Floreat, Churchlands, City Beach, Scarborough, and Wembley.
At Great Beginnings Floreat, we provide child care for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years from 7:00am to 6:00pm. From the moment you step into our centre, you will see where great beginnings start. Our small boutique centre offers a cozy and homely atmosphere that our families love.
Our adventure-filled playgrounds are designed to engage all the senses, with a sandpit, slides, and a waterplay area. Children are encouraged to explore the outdoors, test their limits, and develop strength, balance, and self-confidence. We believe that being outside supports children's overall health and wellbeing.
Inside our centre, children have access to quality resources and engaging learning experiences. Our experienced educators plan play-based learning experiences around children's interests and learning goals. Literacy and numeracy concepts are embedded in play-based learning, allowing children to engage in activities as architects, storytellers, scientists, artists, and designers.
Nutritious meals and snacks are prepared daily by our in-house cook, catering to all dietary requirements. Shared mealtimes between children and educators strengthen relationships and provide opportunities to model healthy eating practices. We are passionate about healthy, fresh food, and we even grow edible plants, including our home-grown passion fruit.
Your child will also have access to a revolving schedule of specialized programs, such as sports, dance, and music, to build a solid foundation in learning and skill development. Our kindergarten program, led by qualified Early Childhood Teachers, offers an active and exciting curriculum to support your child's school readiness.
We believe in connecting with our local community, and our children and educators enjoy regular excursions to nearby locations, including the park, cafes, tennis court, library, and coffee shops. We also welcome special guests and community members to the centre, such as the local vet, Bunnings, and emergency services, based on the children's interests.
Our Family Support Team is available to discuss your child care needs and book a tour at our centre. We understand the importance of the first five years of learning, and our team of educators is trained, qualified, and passionate about providing an unparalleled early childhood education and care experience for your child.
The learning programs at Great Beginnings Floreat reflect modern educational research and practices, as outlined by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). We believe in supporting families, and our centre offers flexible options, including 9-hour, 10-hour, and full-day care, to optimize your child care subsidy.
If this is your child's first time in child care or if you're unsure about the subsidy, our team of experts is here to guide you through the process. Give us a call at 1800 517 086 to learn more about how to apply for the subsidy and to begin your child's learning journey with us at Great Beginnings Floreat.

Reviews of Great Beginnings Floreat
"I was very much not ready to return to work and send my little one off to care but alas we have to do what we have to do. Since returning to work the staff have been nothing short of amazing, my girl loves it, she loves her friends, her educators, her room and most importantly (to her) the food. The staff have become our family, and it’s so comforting to know she is loved and cared for. They have learnt all her little quirks and each person has worked to build a relationship with my baby meaning we thankfully have little to no separation anxiety anymore. I love this centre, there is literally no other place I would feel comfortable leaving my daughter."
"My son has been attending great beginnings since he was 10 months old. In that time he has learnt to walk, feed himself, talk, share toys, baby sign language, how to sleep in a place other than his mothers arms and most importantly he has made friends with the other kids. We always get photos of him through out the day with the biggest smile on his face or a mouth full of food. Some would think eating would be his favourite thing to do at daycare. The staff are fantastic, go out of their way to chat about my sons day and how he has been. The Centre itself is in a great location, is well maintained and has pleasing infrastructures in the playground. Since my son has moved to the toddler room it has been a battle trying to get him home in the afternoon as he is too busy playing on the pirate ship. All in all, We could not have chosen a better Centre for our boy and he is loved by his second family at Great Beginnings Floreat."
"I visited many daycare centres and of all the centres I visited, this was the only centre that I wanted my baby girl to attend (and I travel from Scarborough). What sets this centre apart from so many is the staff. You can tell that they genuinely care about the children and enjoy their jobs, and enjoy working with their colleagues. It’s a great team of people and they make the centre what it is - a safe, fun and loving place for children. I know my baby girl is happy and loved here, and for me, that is the most important thing. She loves all the carers and now knows them all by name (every carer in the centre). She loves to have cuddles from Mikayla, the centre manger every morning - because everyone at this centre works together and gets involved with the children to build relationships. Other plus’s - the centre is really nice and located in a lovely area tucked in next to a park and quiet cafe strip - not stuck on the side of a busy main road like many other centres. They have an on-site cook, who cooks healthy delicious meals which the kids love. Not to mention that she is lovely, and also popular with the children. There is plenty of space and the rooms are well laid out, and allow a lot of natural light in. The children engage in so many wonderful activities - and my baby girl has only recently moved up to toddlers. This isn’t a centre that employs staff who just ‘go through the motions’. They are extremely careful in who they bring in and this is evident throughout the centre (not implying a high turnaround of staff, only one extra person has been bought into the centre since my baby girl started in March). The centre manager has her priorities in order, and as a result, this centre has exactly what I was looking for - a lot of heart! The carers are an extension of our small family. I wouldn’t put my baby girl anywhere else."
"We send our little girl to this daycare, we were so worried at first as this will be her first experience in daycare. After we went in for a tour, I felt that all the kids were so happy. Ashlee, Mikayla and the team were so helpful. My baby girl like outdoor playground area so much. It’s only took a few weeks for her to adjusted to the educators as they’re so friendly and so kind to my daughter. I just love on how the centre communicate with the parent about thing happening during the day. We’re so happy to find the great daycare for your kids definitely sending my son there as well ❤️"
"Both my children have attended this lovely centre. The staff are happy, love your child and really have their best interest at heart. There are so many great things about this centre (initiatives like date night where you can have a night of free babysitting while your kids are looked after, coffee machine with takeaway coffee, French lessons) and while these are all lovely, they don’t compete with the high level of care provided by the staff. Happy staff = happy kids!"
