"I had 2 visits to Greenslopes Private Hospital. The first visit I was left in agony for hours after my surgery and I had to phone the emergency department from my bed because nursing staff would not fetch a doctor for stronger pain killers. I was absolutely sobbing for hours. The second time was for more surgery yesterday I was basically pushed out the door this morning I was bearly in there 24hours. I heard one of the nursing staff at change over this morning at 7am asking why WorkCover are in single rooms close to yelling in the corridor. She then came into my room while I was eating breakfast didn't bother introducing herself told me to stop eating and put my cup of tea up so she could disconnect the drip. She was so rude and obnoxious. I was in a head on collision vehicle accident on the was to work and I've been on Workcover and the worst part about it has been my stay at Greenslopes. I was in no way at fault for the vehicle accident this idiot came around a bend on my side of the road and have been treated like garbage. I went home this morning in tears."
"The nurses are only there to administer medication. When I did ask for anything it was made clear they were so busy and it would have to wait. No hot towels to freshen up. 1 nurse to 33 patients. Surgeon was good after care abysmal. Avoid!"
"Whilst on holidays in Tasmania in May 2023 I fell and broke my ankle in 3 places. Once back in Brisbane my ankle needed surgery. I had the wonderful orthopaedic surgeon Dr. David L. Miller and his wonderful team for my surgery. I was admitted to Ward 35 and later to 37 I can honestly say what a great team/staff on these wards. From the moment I was admitted to my lovely room staff were there attending to me and asking if I needed anything for pain etc.... Night and day shift staff were absolutely wonderful caring, polite and attentive. The PCA Neil on this ward was so caring and attentive, nothing is ever an effort for him. And I can truly say the meals were lovely, nothing was too much effort. I was discharged on the Saturday morning but, had to wait for my medication for 4hrs. Just one area where this needs to be looked at is the waiting for pharmacy. Overall thank you Greenslopes for your professionalism and wonderful service. Keep up the great work that you all do. Thank you."
"Cannot fault the service and professionalism received while here over the last few days, from the emergency department to the wards, nurses, doctors, everyone I delt with were fantastic. Meals were absolutely fantastic and room was clean and roomy. Great Hospital"
"Awful experience at the emergency department this past visit. It's a shame really, as any time I've had to be admitted, the experience was top notch - can't say the same about the emergency department. The long wait time does not bother me - I understand the need to triage cases that come in. The nursing and medical staff are what let the place down. Uncaring, disinterested & dismissive. I was in too much pain to move but no call bell was given if I needed assistance. The patient in the bed across from my cubicle was elderly and in a very poor way; she was calling out, begging for someone - anyone to come in and help her; I saw many, many nurses walk past her as she called out and cried and not one stopped in to assist her - at least 2 nurses stopped directly outside her bed area & rolled their eyes at this poor woman who was literally begging for a nurse to help her; this went on for over an hour without this poor woman being attended to. Medical staff were disinterested and without compassion. I'm a nurse myself & understand what an initial examination looks like - I was briefly looked over; then it was insinuated I was "just seeking drugs" - I had to remind them that I stated I didn't come in for pain medication - I just needed investigations into why I had sudden severe pain; and the medical team did nothing - did not send me to imaging or even provide a slip for an outpatient imaging appointment. No theories or advice on what could have been causing so much pain was given, and certainly no attempt was made to diagnose the problem. I was bluntly told "you can go now"; so I left and I am certainly not coming back. Oh - and I had to pay a substantial amount for this non-treatment too... This is not my first unpleasant encounter at Greenslopes emergency department either. The public system - while it doesn't look as nice as this hospital, has at least always provided exemplary service (I had really been going to Greenslopes instead as it is closer to home, but after tonight - the extra drive to a public hospital will be more than worth it)."
