Kholo Gardens Depot - Ipswich City Council
About the Business
Welcome to Kholo Gardens Depot, located in Muirlea, Riverside Drive, Ipswich City Council. As an establishment and local government office, we are a point of interest for both residents and visitors alike.
At Kholo Gardens Depot, we pride ourselves on our measured and responsible budget, ensuring a rate rise under inflation despite major economic pressures. We are committed to serving the community and providing the best possible services and facilities.
In recent news, we are excited to announce that the demolition phase of the Commonwealth Hotel restoration project in the Nicholas Street Precinct has been completed, and construction has now commenced. This project aims to preserve the heritage of Ipswich and create a vibrant space for the community to enjoy.
We are also proud to have hosted The Push's inaugural Queensland Music Careers Expo, which saw almost 150 young people gather at the Ipswich Civic Centre. This free event provided opportunities for aspiring musicians to learn and network within the industry.
For those interested in Ipswich's rich heritage, we invite you to attend Galvanized - A Festival of Heritage. This event will showcase the trades of yesteryear through various events, workshops, talks, and tours, paying homage to Ipswich's history.
Exciting developments are underway at the Southern Resource Recovery Centre and Animal Management Facility. We are pleased to offer a sneak peek at the concept designs for these new facilities, which will bring improved services and amenities to the community.
We also support local initiatives such as Brighter Brassall, a group of residents dedicated to taking care of their community. We believe that all progress starts with one small step, and we are proud to see the positive impact this group is making.
As spring arrives, we encourage everyone to Get Ready for the summer season ahead. With longer days and gardens in full bloom, it's the perfect time to prepare for the warmer months.
In response to the popularity of the Street Patio, we are relocating it to the Top of Town after a successful trial period outside Oikos Café on Limestone Street in Ipswich Central. This move will provide a new and vibrant space for the community to gather and enjoy.
Lastly, we have opened applications for community organizations interested in managing one of our four council-owned community facilities. This is a rare opportunity for organizations to make a positive impact in the community and contribute to its growth and development.
