"Fort Lytton Historic Military Precinct was one of the most interesting places I've ever had the opportunity to check out. We went there on an overcast day, and it really gave the feeling that we had taken a step back in time. Taking photos of the old bunkers and the alleyways was great as well. If you ever get the chance to check out Fort Lytton Historic Military Precinct, you won't regret it. Here are some of the photos I took during the visit."
"Such a good place. There’s also tours here that show you about the place and what the soldiers do. The actors there are skilled. And it’s perfect."
"We did the drive out from the Gold Coast, which took about 50 mins in traffic, we took a packed lunch and I had 3 kids with me aged 1, 4 and 12. They all enjoyed running around looking at the historic guns, tanks, cannons, etc. We didn't do the tour as the younger kids would have struggled with it, but I will go again when they're older so I know what I'm actually looking at with some of the ruins."
"History on our doorstep, recommend a visit. Great experience, the guide, while he did waffle a bit, was knowledgeable and added to the experience."
"Interesting place to spend a Sunday, which happens to be the only day it is opened (at this point in time). The free tour is well worth waiting for. Look out for the blackboard near the entrance of the shop/museum for times of the tours. If you are going in summer or a hot day, a hat and sunscreen is a must as a good part of the tour is outdoors. There's not too much shade at parts of the tour but plenty of refreshments can be purchased. Best to stock up before going on a tour! Be prepared for some exhibits/buildings to be closed either due to lack of volunteers on the day or closed for maintenance. The volunteers who manage the place are friendly and full of interesting stories. Please don’t leave without making a donation!"
