"Beware delivery times! Bought a sofa and was assured delivery in 4-5 weeks which was even written on the invoice. ”It is on its way to Brisbane now”, I was told. Patiently waited and heard nothing. I had to contact to store only to be told it will be another 2 mmoths on top of the time already waited, with no explanation for the delay either. Offered a refund but that’s doesn’t really help me. Already spent weeks waiting and would have to wait all over again if I chose something different instead. Can’t comment on the quality of furniture yet as I’m still waiting. Hoping it will be worth the mess around."
"I've bought several items from Johnny's Furniture QLD, Capabala store. The couch was a 2 unit piece (Chaise+Sofa). The chaise has a significantly steeper drop-off than the sofa, making it unusable for more than 15 min. I've called the store, which asked me to send an email with photos and a description. I took several measurements of the units, photos, and a video and sent them as requested. To be precise, the dropoff on the sofa side is 9.5 cm and the chaise is 3cm. These are supposed to be uniform, as one unit is attached to the other. Without a reply, I called the store again. They answered, "there is nothing wrong with the unit" after explaining everything again, as they didn't read the email. I got a clear feeling that they just completely ignored any argument I gave and would not do the return regardless. The manager of the store told me he would send someone to see the sofa. Weeks later, we've called again. Eventually, someone came. A 3rd party that does assessments on furniture. The person during my home visit, told me "there is definitely a different steep here, and I can see why you can't sit here for long" after sitting in the sofa and assessing it. Followed by "I will do my report to the store tonight, but after that you have to call them as I'm not part of Johnny's store". I called the store, which answered: "the sofa is fine, there is nothing wrong with it". Dodgy service. I will replace this unit at my cost, as I can't have my pregnant wife using it, and will look for legal assistance to get compensation."
"Great experience at Johns Furniture Capalaba. Salesman was very patient while all the sofas were given a rigorous workout..bounced on, lay on, sat on. Goldilocks had a lot of feedback..too soft, too hard, too deep, not deep enough, 'help me out please I'm stuck', no back support, do you have this in leather and finally 'can you throw in the cushions'. Waiting eagerly for January delivery."
"Initially very happy with purchase but follow up customer service very poor along with build quality. You pay more for supposedly quality Australian made furniture which you expect to last to only see it warp. Won’t replace or fix ( yes it is older than 12 months but still poor form). Won’t even send me two more legs so I can put additional support under it myself in the correct positions. Very unhelpful, completely dismissive which is very disappointing. Sad to say might as well but cheap imports from A mart."
"I will never shop there again. Appalling service and was mislead by the manager. Seemed like all he wanted was to pressure me into putting a deposit down. He advised me any change in heat its no worries however, when i went to cancel the very next day he stated 20% cancellation policy and then proceeded to tell me it was off the entire price however no where on the invoice or cancellation policy did it state "off the entire price" it only states "all cancelled orders will incur a 20% cancellation fee" I had only paid a deposit of $1200 which should of been $240 taken as cancellation instead I lost $471.80 and was lied to by Brian the manager. I have contacted fair work and have lodged a complaint against the store. Treat you staff how you want to be treated and if you can tell they are unsure dont lie to them and then go back on your word!!! its disgusting"
