At Melbourne Neonatal Network, our team consists of experienced neonatal paediatricians who specialize in the care of newborns. We primarily receive referrals from St Vincent’s Private Hospital and the Epworth Freemasons Maternity Hospital, where most of our patients are born under the care of their obstetricians.

Our involvement begins either at the time of birth or shortly after, depending on the circumstances. In cases where we are present at the birth, we take on the responsibility of the baby's medical care while they are in the hospital. This includes daily visits to monitor their progress and ensure their well-being.

By working collaboratively as a group, we are able to provide round-the-clock coverage for all of the babies under our care. This ensures that each baby receives the attention and care they need, no matter the time of day or night.

Even after a baby is discharged from the hospital, our commitment to their well-being continues. We provide specialist care for the first three months of their lives, as per their obstetrician's referral. During this time, we monitor their development and address any health concerns that may arise.

While most babies remain healthy and do not require further care from us, some may need follow-up appointments in our consulting rooms as outpatients. We also accept referrals for babies who have not been seen by us in the hospital, typically from general practitioners or obstetricians.
