About the Business
Welcome to Create Space Art Therapy, a unique institution located at 2 Colin Avenue, Warrandyte, Australia. As an establishment focused on health and wellbeing, we are a point of interest for individuals seeking a transformative therapeutic experience.
Art Therapy, also known as Creative Arts Therapy, is a powerful form of psychotherapy. Our team of dedicated Creative Arts Therapists are mental health professionals who utilize various creative processes such as drawing, writing, sculpting, drama, clay, sand, dance, and movement to support healing, change, and growth. Within the context of a therapeutic relationship, our therapists facilitate the exploration of feelings, enhancing self-awareness, and providing a way to express thoughts and emotions that may be difficult to articulate.
At Create Space Art Therapy, we emphasize the process of creating rather than the final product. We firmly believe that anyone can engage in Art Therapy, regardless of their artistic abilities. The act of creation itself offers insight, growth, self-awareness, and relief from overwhelming experiences.
Our Registered Creative Arts Therapists are highly trained in both creative methods and psychological techniques to help clients express themselves and improve their overall wellbeing. Rebekah, a Registered Art Therapist with over 7 years of experience, specializes in working with adolescents and children. She has a passion for supporting young people dealing with mental health challenges, emotion regulation, anger management, physical and mental disabilities, engagement with education, self-esteem, ASD, trauma, and at-risk or vulnerable youth.
Rebekah holds a Master's in Art Therapy and has undergone training in Interplay Play Therapy. She incorporates elements of mental health psychotherapy and counseling into her trauma-informed and client-centered approach. Rebekah creates a safe environment for all individuals and welcomes those who are gender diverse, culturally diverse, and neuro-divergent.
Art serves as a powerful tool for self-exploration and self-expression, and Rebekah encourages young people to delve into their inner world and find ways to express it outwardly. She has witnessed the transformative power of art in healing, developing an understanding of identity, acceptance, and self-love.
At Create Space Art Therapy, we value the importance of supporting young people in building an understanding of themselves and their needs. Rebekah integrates Play Therapy and counseling skills into the Art Therapy space, allowing young people to express and explore their inner thoughts through art, play, writing, or music.
We invite individuals of all genders, ethnicities, races, sexualities, faiths, and abilities to join us on this therapeutic journey. We acknowledge and pay respects to the traditional custodians of this land, the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation, and recognize their ongoing culture, spiritual practices, and connection to the land, waters, animals, people, and community. We also acknowledge and honor all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, their Elders past, present, and emerging. We acknowledge that Aboriginal sovereignty was never ceded.
Join us at Create Space Art Therapy, where the creative continuum of therapeutic services and creative pursuits await. Visit our website at www.creativec.com.au and embark on a transformative journey towards self-discovery, healing, and personal growth.
