Welcome to Mindsight Counselling & Art Therapy, located in Highett, Melbourne. When life becomes challenging, it's important to have support. Our institution offers a range of counselling services to help individuals find balance and meaning in their lives.

As an NDIS accredited counsellor, I have over 15 years of experience in both public and private practice in Melbourne. In addition to being a mother and an artist, I am a registered clinical counsellor and art therapist. I have a particular passion for working with children and their families, creating a healing space where clients can explore and understand the experiences or events that trouble them.

Our approach encompasses a blend of counselling and psychotherapy methods tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients. This includes Family Therapy, Art/Play Therapies, Sandplay Therapy, Meditation, and Mindfulness. We specialize in assisting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/ADHD/ODD, and Social Emotional Regulation Difficulties.

Art therapy is a powerful process that allows individuals to express their thoughts and feelings, develop self-awareness, and cope with stress. It provides an alternative means of exploration, communication, and healing, regardless of artistic ability.

Sandplay therapy, based on Jungian psychology, is a recognized form of psychotherapy suitable for both children and adults. It offers a safe and protected space for exploring the complexities of the self and facilitating emotional healing. By creating three-dimensional pictures using sand, water, and small objects, clients engage in symbolic play, allowing their unconscious thoughts and emotions to become visible.

There is growing neurological evidence supporting the effectiveness of sandplay and creative art therapies. Emotional memories and trauma are stored in the right hemisphere of the brain, along with non-verbal, sensory images, body images, and emotions. These non-verbal therapies provide a powerful means of accessing and releasing the unconscious, promoting healing and growth.

Our practice is conveniently located at 31/260-264 Wickham Rd, Highett VIC 3190, with parking available. We understand that major changes, such as returning to school, can cause stress and anxiety for children and teenagers. Our institution is here to support parents and carers in helping their children navigate these transitions.
