Real Connections Art Therapy
About the Business
Welcome to Real Connections Art Therapy, located at 19 Bruce Street in Mornington, Australia. As an establishment focused on health and well-being, we are a point of interest that offers a unique and creative alternative to traditional counseling.
At Real Connections, we understand that sometimes it can be difficult to find the right words to express our emotions. That's why we combine the therapeutic powers of creative expressions such as visual art, nature, music, movement, drama, and play with counseling and psychotherapy. By tapping into the subconscious in ways that are more difficult to reach via traditional methods, we provide individuals of all ages and abilities with a safe and supportive environment to explore their emotions and experiences.
Our person-centered approach to art therapy allows individuals, groups, and families to embark on a journey of personal growth, self-healing, awareness, and connection. Whether you choose individual sessions for adults or children, group psychotherapy, or team-building experiences for the workplace, our sessions will engage your five senses and bring about clarity and a new awareness of your own world.
In our safe and non-judgmental space, you will be invited to explore a variety of creative tools designed to empower and help access your inner resources. Our introduction to exploring art as therapy will provide you with creative means of artistic expression to support your mental health and wellbeing.
If you're looking for a more immersive experience, we offer programs that run over a number of weeks, providing a safe and supportive environment for you to explore your personal goals and challenges.
For organizations, we also offer creative team-building workshops that can be tailored to your specific requirements and goals. Ranging from 3 hours to a full day, these workshops will help foster a sense of unity and collaboration among your team.
Our founder, who completed her BA in Arts Psychotherapy at IKON Institute of Australia, practices in Mornington and has a fully equipped studio space that provides clients with a safe and nurturing environment to delve into their inner world. With a passion for helping others, she has worked with diverse populations and supported individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Whether it's facilitating women's groups, assisting those with anxiety, depression, or other mental health challenges, or aiding individuals with addictive behaviors, her aim is to create a space where individuals can feel seen, heard, and supported.
One aspect of her work that she finds particularly rewarding is working with children and teens, developing art therapy programs that foster growth and development. She also emphasizes the significance of art as a means of expression and finding meaning in the present moment for individuals of all abilities.
As a therapist, her approach is gentle and compassionate. She believes in walking alongside her clients as they navigate their inner world, offering support and guidance throughout their therapeutic journey.
We look forward to meeting you and assisting you in exploring your inner world and finding healing through art therapy at Real Connections Art Therapy.

Reviews
"My beautifully autistic 9 year old has gained so much value from her art therapy sessions with Soraya. Soraya's approach is gentle and her warm and happy nature makes others feel comfortable. Her art therapy approach makes it easy to open up and explore emotions, followed by useful strategies to use outside of the session."
"Sometimes we don’t have all the answers, but Soraya really knows how to allow your body to speak for you through art. Had some resistance going into these sessions but Soraya has truly been helping me to unpack some massive things in my life. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for adults OR children. Soraya has also worked with my 11yo boy who suffers from ADHD and is on the spectrum. After a session with Soraya, he discovered he likes to sew and even said it’s better than video games. UNBELIEVABLE! Soraya is an incredible human being. What a wonderful journey. Art therapy with Raya is the best!"
