About the Business
Welcome to the Australian Academy of Martial Arts, located in Upper Mount Gravatt on Logan Road. As an establishment focused on health and well-being, we are not just a point of interest, but a community sports club dedicated to promoting the art of karate.
The Australian Academy of Martial Arts Karate-Do Club Inc (AAMA) is a volunteer-operated, not-for-profit organization. Our unique structure allows us to provide exceptional value to our students, with affordable membership prices. For adults, the cost is $60, while couples can join for $100. We also offer a special rate of $100 for one adult and one child, and a concession price of $21 for retirees, seniors, and the unemployed.
Karate is an excellent sport for children, as it helps them develop coordination, courtesy, and confidence. Our classes are divided into age groups, with Little Leopards for 5-7-year-olds, Dragons for 7-11-year-olds, and Samurai for 11-17-year-olds.
At the Australian Academy of Martial Arts, we believe that it is never too late to start karate classes. Our no-impact sessions are designed to improve the general physical fitness and mental health of all participants. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner, our versatile classes can accommodate students of all belt ranks, and no level of fitness is required to start.
Our instructors are highly qualified, holding National Coaching Accreditation Scheme recognition through the Queensland Karate Association and the Australian Karate Federation. These are the government-sanctioned bodies that regulate the sport in Australia and its interaction with international federations and the Olympic movement. Additionally, all instructors have Government Blue Cards for working with children and CPR certification.
As a testament to our commitment to excellence, our instructors and senior students have the opportunity to visit the Head Dojo of Karate-Do Shobukai in Tokyo, Japan, for special training sessions and cultural exchange. With 50 years of teaching experience at local, national, and international levels, our instruction systems are well-established and proven.
Furthermore, our instructors include state, national, and international sports karate referees and judges, ensuring that our students receive the highest level of training and guidance.
Join us at the Australian Academy of Martial Arts and discover the many benefits of karate. Whether you are seeking physical fitness, mental well-being, or a sense of community, our institution is here to support and guide you on your martial arts journey.
