Established in 1993 by Stephen Kelly, Kansai Karate Academy is proud to be part of the Shito-ryu Shukokai World Karate Union, a global organization dedicated to promoting the art of karate. Our award-winning Honbu Karate dojo and High Performance Centre are situated in the picturesque suburb of Sumner Park, just 15 kilometers from Brisbane city.

With full-time professional dojos, we provide a safe training environment for our students, offering classes six days a week. Our highly trained and qualified instructors, led by Shihan Stephen, teach traditional and sport karate in a modern, energetic, and exciting atmosphere that benefits both individuals and families.

At Kansai Karate Academy, we believe in catering to all age groups. Our specially formulated classes are designed for children aged 3 to adults. We have programs such as Cubs (3-4 years), Little Lions (5-7 years), Juniors (8-12 years), and Adults (13 years). Additionally, we specialize in Kids Karate Classes, Karate Shukokai, Competition Karate, Weapons training, fitness classes, self-defense classes, and personal training.

Apart from our Sumner Park location, Kansai Karate Academy also has four dojos in Brisbane, including full-time dojos in Springfield and Willawong, and satellite dojos in Moggill and Clayfield. We also have a full-time dojo on the Gold Coast in Upper Coomera.
