Reviews of TAFE Queensland Ipswich campus
"I’ve only been once as it was toward the end of last year 2022. I can definitely suggest you go and use the very reasonably priced beauty treatments and hair dressing - I’m going to become a regular as of 2023- thank you to all the students and lovely staff!"
"All I could remember from my time here at TAFE weren’t the best, I remember a couple of the TAFE teachers were very rude and extremely opinionated within the hospitality department. There were a few teachers that were genuinely polite and respectful but those other teachers spoiled it, and it is completely unprofessional"
"After reading some of the reviews, thought to leave a review in retrospect. I completed a trade cookery course way back in 1996. In my opinion one of the most useless courses that I have ever undertaken. It never led me to a job within the hospitality industry or an apprenticeship. Just for the record I've worked in Defence and the resources sector for over 20 years. I won't speak for now but back then courses like this were used so the government could fudge the numbers with the unemployment figures studying or training for jobs you couldn't get or just didn't exist. While Tafe may work for some it certainly didn't work for me a waist of time and money."
"Extremely terrible experience at this facility. Teachers non responsive and staff unwilling to help or come up with any sort of solution. I made multiple phone calls and sent emails to both the facility and teacher regarding completion of a practical assessment which I needed to complete on campus and was ignored each time. I signed up in November and all staff went on holidays without any notice prior to signing up therefor I was not able to contact anyone about my concerns in completing the assessment on time. Now I'm left waiting at least 3 months to book this in with still no guidance or support!!"
"I have found the Certificate III in Nail Technology to be extremely outdated and desperately needs to be revised and updated to current standards and practices in the industry. The elective units for the Ipswich campus are completely irrelevant to the course and too much time was spent teaching them rather than the core units which many were glossed over. The teaching staff, while lovely people, did not do a sufficient job in delivering the units and this course did not feel like it prepares the students for working in the industry. It was impossible to provide feedback on the experience during the course as every concern was deflected onto the students. I have since taken independent courses to further my skills and am now a working nail technician, however if I relied on this course alone I would have been inadequate at my work."
