Welcome to Flying W Driving School, located at Bribie Island on Oleander Drive. As an establishment and point of interest, we offer both AUTO and MANUAL driving lessons from Bribie to Caboolture. Our experienced instructor, Ken, has a unique background as a former Insurance Underwriter in London and Sydney, and now as a Flying Instructor with over 2,400 hours of flying instructional experience and over 3,000 hours of ground instructional experience.

Ken's passion for teaching extends beyond the skies, as he also found joy in teaching his twin girls how to drive. Recognizing his temperament and skills in this area, he became a qualified driver trainer, offering his services to other learner drivers. Ken is known for his patience, experience, and positive and calm teaching style, which helps produce confident and safe drivers.

At Flying W Driving School, we aim to provide you with the knowledge and skills necessary to pass the PrepL test. We cater to learners in various areas, including Bribie Island, Bongaree, Bellara, Woorim, Pacific Harbour, White Patch, Sandstone Point, Godwin Beach, Beachmere, Ningi, Donnybrook, Toorbul, Caboolture, and surrounding areas.

While our services are no longer funded by the Australian Government, we believe that our lessons are invaluable for both students and supervisors. Once you turn 16, you can apply for a learner permit after meeting the necessary requirements outlined by the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads.

For students under 25 years of age, completing 100 hours of supervised driving is mandatory to fulfill their logbook requirements, including 10 hours of night driving. Each hour spent with our qualified driver trainer counts as three hours, up to a maximum of 10 hours, giving you 30 hours in your logbook. Make sure to record your hours in the QLD Learner Logbook App.

Before taking your driving test, it is essential to complete the Hazard Perception test from Qld Transport. Additionally, you must hold your learners license for at least six months before being eligible to take the driving test.

For those under 25, you can book a practical driving test once your learner logbook has been approved. However, if you are over 25, you do not need to complete a learner logbook before booking your test. We recommend scheduling a driving session just before your test to ensure you are fully prepared.
