With 25 years of experience, we have been training students of all ages to achieve their aviation goals. Our institution not only trains sons, daughters, mums, and dads, but we also have many current airline pilots who fly with us to keep their skills sharp and enjoy the traditional "stick and rudder" flying experience. We take pride in maintaining our aircraft to the highest standards, with factory-built planes and qualified LAME engineers ensuring safety and reliability.

At Caboolture Recreational Aviation, our Chief Flying Instructor (CFI) boasts over 20,000 flight hours, encompassing Recreational, GA, Commercial, and Airline experience. You can trust that you will receive top-notch instruction from an experienced professional.

One of the unique aspects of Recreational Flying is that it only requires students to hold a driver's license medical. This means that if you can drive a car, you can fly a plane! While solo flight is only permitted once a student turns 15 years old, you can begin learning at any age.

You may be wondering how long it takes to obtain your Pilot Certificate. Typically, our instructors will send you solo after approximately 12 hours of training, once they are confident in your ability to safely handle the plane on your own. The Recreational Pilot Certificate requires a minimum of 15 hours of dual training and 5 hours of solo training. Most students achieve their certificate within 2 hours of the required 20-hour minimum. However, as flight training is competency-based, some students may take a bit longer. To expedite the process, we recommend flying at least once a fortnight.

To support your learning journey, we offer classes to help you understand the necessary subjects and prepare for the examination components. Throughout your training, you will need to complete a total of 5 exams, which our instructors have prepared study courses for. These courses are tailored to suit individual learning styles, ensuring you achieve the best results on your first attempt. All examinations are held at our flying school for your convenience.

Once you have obtained your pilot's license, you can private hire our aircraft and share your love of flying with family and friends. As long as you fly regularly, your pilot's license is valid for life.
