Welcome to the Stanley River Environmental Education Centre, located at Hazeldean, Esk Kilcoy Road in Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, we are proud to offer a unique and award-winning educational experience known as Bunya to the Bay.

Bunya to the Bay is a remarkable journey that immerses students in the rich cultural heritage of the Aboriginal people along the Brisbane River. This educational program takes participants on a captivating adventure, following the river from its source to the sea.

In July and August of 2020, a carefully selected group of 40 students will embark on this extraordinary journey, working together in teams to conquer over 340 km of challenging river terrain. Through walking, cycling, and canoeing, they will experience firsthand the diverse ecosystems and breathtaking landscapes that the Brisbane River has to offer.

The Bunya to the Bay program is designed to provide students with a holistic learning experience. They will engage in scientific exploration, personal growth, social development, and thrilling adventures that will deepen their understanding of the many facets of the Brisbane River.

One of the highlights of this journey is the opportunity for students to spend time with respected elders on country, forging connections with the deep and dynamic cultural heritage, traditions, and values of the Aboriginal people. This unique interaction allows students to gain a profound sense of their place in the world and their ability to shape its future.
