Welcome to Montessori Journey, a family-run centre located in the picturesque bayside suburb of Wynnum, just 15 kilometers from Brisbane's bustling CBD. Since opening our doors on January 29th, 2002, we have been dedicated to providing the best educational experience for children and their families.

At Montessori Journey, we have three classrooms that are named after three great artists: Van Gogh, Monet, and Renoir. Each room is thoughtfully arranged into five specialized areas of learning: Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Math, and Culture. This comprehensive curriculum covers a wide range of subjects, including the arts, music, geography, history, and science.

One of the unique aspects of our centre is that children of varying ages, ranging from three to six years old, are mixed together in each classroom. This allows for a dynamic learning environment where children can interact and learn from one another. Our students have the freedom to move about the room and choose materials that interest them, fostering a sense of independence and self-directed learning.

Outside playtime is an important part of a child's development, and we have created a wonderful sandpit area for this purpose. Equipped with various tools and toys, children can engage in activities such as building sandcastles, pretend cooking, and playing with trucks. Through play, they not only have fun but also learn important social skills such as sharing, teamwork, and empathy.

In addition to the sandpit area, we also have a quiet area for outside play. This space offers a range of activities, including reading, painting, music and dancing, dress-ups, puzzles, and building with blocks. Sometimes, as part of the Montessori philosophy, practical life works are also incorporated, such as brushing the concrete path or watering the plants in our lovely garden. These activities help children develop concentration, coordination, and motor skills while enjoying the tranquility of the outdoors.

Our playground is meticulously maintained and thoughtfully designed to ensure the safety of our students. Surrounded by lush gardens that the children themselves take care of, the outdoor environment serves as an extension of our indoor classrooms. It provides endless opportunities for exploration and learning, fostering a deep connection with nature.
