The temperature of the sand on the island determines the sex of the turtles, with the cool sands of Moreton Island favoring the hatching of male turtles.
Don't let the word "shark" intimidate you. The Wobbegong Sharks that inhabit the wrecks are harmless bottom-dwelling creatures that spend their time feeding on crabs and smaller fish. The name "Wobbegong" originates from the Australian-Aboriginal language and refers to the shaggy growths on the bottom of their mouths.

Reviews of Adventure Moreton Island
"They offer one of the cheapest prices for the ferry and island activities, but we had strong winds on the day so couldn't go near the Wrecks at all. Had to call multiple times and wait a month for a partial refund. Probably should have booked with a different company."
"We loved Moreton Island. Spent a day in with walk to sand dunes, snorkelling in the wreck and dolphin feeding."
"Do not recommend at all. I’ve actually never had a worst experience with any company that would make me want to leave a review. The guy that greeted us with the board and the boys in the area where you fill out paper work ect were absolutely lovely. When we got there we were only the told about the short amount of time we actually had to scuba dive (an hour) we were told that we need to meet at 11:45pm for the pool dive first , we were on time but the instructor Nigel seamed behind. We put on our wetsuits and my partner asked for a photo once we were done , he was so rude and clapped his hands and told us to hurry up(we didn’t get a photo) did the pool thing then waited around with our gear on for an hour! Before we could get on the boat and leave. We got there (wrecks) and 30 short mins we were done. Got back to the beach and it was 3:40pm, we missed our ferry which came at 3:30pm which is part of this “deal” Absolutely no value in money here. Our instructor Nigel was so short and had no patience, I found him so rude. Besides that the bathrooms at the water activities were so dirty and smelly. There are so many other places that give a much better experience, don’t let the beautiful Island fool you to book this tour (if you can even call it that)"
"We had a very nice day on the island despite the weather was not good. The ferry is very comfortable as there is a bar for drinks and snacks. We have been welcomed by Brigitte. We rented the snorkel gear and a kayak. We would have expected a better briefing for the kayak because it was too windy and the water was choppy we had to drop the kayak after 50m because it was too hard. The snorkelling was however very nice and really easy to do on our own."
"Chose the Wrecks Adventure Tour for our trip to Moreton today, price seemed great considering it was only about $60 more than catching the Micat over, then activities and resort access are included. A few of the activities weren't available because it was not windy enough (catamaran and parasailing) and The Covid (banana boating) which was a bit of a bummer, but our Guided Wrecks snorkel, Stand Up Paddle board and Kayak hires all ended up being great. Our snorkel guides were efficient and friendly, and hiring the SUP and kayaks was super smooth. The wrecks were pretty busy and crowded, but hey, it's that time of year. Only 4 stars because we were sent incorrect info about ferry departure in the morning, told 7am in the email confirmation and website FAQ but it's actually 8. I could've slept another hour! Then on arrival when choosing our activities the staff also told us confusing info about which activities went to the wrecks and how. Otherwise a great day, would love to go back for longer!"
